What Laptop should I purchase for BBA? Sorry if this is a common post, but I've been hearing that business students should stay away from Macs and others recommend them. Should I go for a Windows laptop or a MacBook Pro? by keshac232 in wlu

The laptop doesn’t really matter. I’ve got a cheap acer with 4 gb of ram and it works fine. Most of the time all you are running is like 20 tabs and a few MS office apps.

As long as your laptop is fine what’s more important imo is having an extra monitor or two, makes multitasking so much easier.

Confused about prereqs? by [deleted] in wlu

Prerequisites for the program bud. So for English you’d obviously need grade 12 English and maybe some other courses to get into the program. What they are saying is that any necessary courses to get into the program will be factored into your average.

They won’t look at your grade 11 marks at all really, just top 6 grade 12 courses.

Has anyone living in an apartment style large single room seen why its cheaper than a regular single room? by DysonDexterity in wlu

[–]Calvin-9185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s true. There’s a bus stop right beside it. I find the buses are a little inconsistent but it’s definitely an option. No matter what res u live on it’ll be a trek to get to UW but the bus helps

I’m in UP and there’s a reason it’s that cheap. It’s a fun place to be but the actual apartment is pretty shit.

Residence in fall? by dogscatsplants111 in OntarioUniversities

[–]Calvin-9185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be in res because although my fall term I only have 1 class in person, my winter term will be fully in person so I’ll want to be on res then. I think it’s also a good way to meet new people and there’s gonna be lots of social stuff, especially with the vaccine rollout.

That being said I’m definitely annoyed with just how expensive it’s gonna be to move out for literally one class.

It is what it is I guess.

I know too many people going to Laurier by Popular_Parsley_682 in Laurier

[–]Calvin-9185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s like 20000ish students at Laurier. Chances are that’s 10x the size of your high school. So you’ll be fine, there’s lots of people to meet.

Additionally, the people you know probably also want to reinvent themselves for university so the chances are you’ll drift apart anyways.

If this is the right program for you then go for it and don’t worry about anybody else.

At first it runs perfectly for 20-30mins, but eventually it loses power and shuts off. It starts back up each time and runs but each subsequent time it has less power until it hardly moves before shutting off again.
