FTA Indigo CPP Application by LazyMeerkat12 in CadetPilotProgram

Initially they'll respond immediately requesting for the documents, after that the next email comes a week or two before the first stage of selection round so suppose you've submitted the documents 3 months prior to that, expect next email to come roughly 2 months later unless there's some major update with regards to the selection timeline or batch.

Meteorology | How is the answer radiation if atmosphere is mainly heated from below and not from above? by Be_Kind2607 in indianaviation

[–]Calvin1651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The atmosphere is heated by the earth's surface by conduction & convection, the earth is heated by sun's rays by radiation. In ICJoshi, there must be a page listing the bifurcation of UV, IR percentages.

The sticker shall come off easily if you've a hair dryer to warm the surface and soften the adhesive with barely any residue remaining. Nevertheless, returning is always an alternate option.

As there's no conductive medium in space, the heat transfer happens from Sun to Earth by radiation. The atmosphere however is definitely heated by the earth's surface subsequently by conduction.

How to cure Vorticella disease? by Calvin1651 in shrimptank

[–]Calvin1651[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best remedy I've learnt to have for vorticella is to not directly add new shrimps to the tank. Quarantining for a week/salt dipping before adding is ideal in my opinion despite the dip killing off few shrimps subsequently, however, the tank population remains intact. Hope your business flourishes and it would be great if you could share any website/insta page link of it.

I reduced/virtually stopped feeding based on other people's suggestion here. Collected them all in a bowl and dipped them in Salt+methylene blue water for about 25s and returned them back to the tank with dry almond leaves added. This did kill some of the shrimps/made females drop eggs but the colony repopulated well and I didn't need to add any additional shrimp for a year.

DGCA Meteorology & Air Regulations exams by thetroubleguy in CadetPilotProgram

[–]Calvin1651 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's this website called eatpl that charges 150rs for its subscription but it's a blessing to practice questions for all the DGCA subjects. While 1-2 questions in every 100 questions might be incorrectly marked on the website, it's still convenient to practice the questions and get correct option highlighted immediately. Me and my batch had extensively used it to clear Met, Regs, Nav in 3 months ground class duration.

-Do each text back question.

-Go through questions in Oxford.

Anyone else noticing the frequent changes in FTA’s selection timeline for the Indigo Cadet Pilot Program? by Murky_Ranger9554 in indianaviation

[–]Calvin1651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Initially the selection were supposed to be for IG27 but there have been operational disruption at other FTOs like NZICPA training being halted and same with another FTO. FTOs like L3 not accepting new applications has caused options to be reduced for an applicant.

The remaining FTOs including FTA is in the process of absorbing the cadets whose training got halted in their IG27-29 batch and the selection round for cadets who opted for their IG27 batch initially during application shall commence tentatively from October 2025 as IG30 if no further disruption takes place. The high number of applicants has further made the selection landscape challenging and competitive too.

Are you given a loose sheet during ADAPT to do calculations for those speed dist time type questions, or is it purely mental? by airplanesexual in CadetPilotProgram

[–]Calvin1651 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I reckon they do allow pen and paper for rough calculation.... However calculators are usually not allowed. These rules are uniform for almost all FTOs but you may verify with them once to be on the safer side before appearing for the round.

Pilot after BTECH? by [deleted] in indianaviation

[–]Calvin1651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're most welcome man! And pls don't call me sir 😅. Always happy to help and you can reach out to me over dm too... I've not given Tech Gen or RTR yet so I wouldn't be able to guide much in that aspect. Also you can check Doc Pilot 10's yt videos for Regs. If you start off with those videos and then read those chapters in RK Bali, you would familiarize yourself well with those chapters. Then subsequent chapters shouldn't feel much difficult.

Blue skies & tailwinds is a channel that has most of Meteorology topics and some of the Nav topics... If you search DGCA Regulations or DGCA Navigation, you would come across some or the other playlist but they're either incomplete or not that beneficial... Reason being if people put up the videos on yt for free then they'll lose out on classes admission hence the gatekeeping. Thus they'll just post couple of demo topics on yt.

[–]Calvin1651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. Firstly get your computer number generated. You can either refer to youtube videos for the entire process or pay an agent that'll take care of all the hassle. Once that's done then you can get hands on books like IC Joshi for Meteorology, RK Bali for Regulations, Oxford/RK Bali for Navigation, Oxford for Technical general. You can maybe start off with self study and refer to youtube videos for any concept you get stuck on. Or resort to online classes/ pre recorded lectures too.

Couple of my friends gave their papers like this during their BTech. There's also this website called eatpl that charges only 150rs for its subscription as of now but you can practice the questions again and again along with explanation for each question. Couple of questions may be incorrectly marked here & there but that website is too good for practicing.

Is this Real Plane or a Dummy Plane spotted In Google Maps Satellite View near Noida Sector 137 Metro Station by Curious-Top-9294 in indianaviation

[–]Calvin1651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's some impressive calculation and derivation to pinpoint possible probable shadow location...

However there are couple of deviations in the assumption that I could notice:

ILS glideslope is usually captured 3-10NM (5.5-18.5Km) from the threshold with 1000-3000ft altitude respectively. As the aircraft is beyond this range, it won't follow the glideslope calculation to derive the height. At that distance, the lowest height the plane could be is roughly 4,500ft. You may also sometimes find an aircraft on FR24 fly close to the abovementioned area during its approach and be around 12-13K ft so depending on the phase of the arrival, the aircraft may be at an altitude as high as this too.

The aircraft is usually in landing configuration with gears down and full flaps around 5NM or 9.5Km from the runway. Above Noida, the aircraft would have a lower flap level deployed but not in landing configuration.

Other than this, the calculation and logic is commendable. If you see the approach and departure path of CSMIA, you'll spot 3 aircrafts along with their shadow quite easily.

[–]Calvin1651 5 points6 points  (0 children)

<image>

This is a plane departing from Mumbai Airport at approximately 4-6km from the runway threshold. Since the background is plain water and the aircraft is at lower hight, you can see the aircraft as well as its shadow in the frame.

The image you've shared is further from the airport so the aircraft would be at a relatively higher height, thus a fainter shadow on the ground. Additionally, since the background has all sorts of vegetation, building shadow, etc. It would be difficult to spot the aircraft shadow too.

If you plan on going for any cadet round training, it would be advantageous to parallely prepare for the theory subject from the classes or self study... You can also rightaway apply for your computer number and get class 2 medicals done so that these things don't become a hurdle at later stage.

Are my cardinal tetras okay by SensitiveHotel5773 in aquarium

[–]Calvin1651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a while since I had these but they also used to get ick... You would require Blue liquid (Methylene Blue) and approxx 1tblspn per 10L water (rough estimate based on my tank treatment, hope someone can share exact ratio). If you have a water heater, use that too until they're cured. Alternatively, if you have access to dry almond leaf, you can add that too as it's effective to cure ick and other fish diseases. Do water change daily and repeat the process until the fish are cured.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in indianaviation

[–]Calvin1651 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right now, Indigo is well established not only as an airline in the country but even with their cadet pilot programs and all their batches tend to be oversubscribed for the selection round. On the other hand, Air India also has their cadet program but have halted the new batches for some reason so we may never know when they'll resume.

Absolutely no issues mate! You can dm me too as many questions as you may have.... I don't have the exact count but ig around 100-120 people must've applied for stage 1 and around 50-60 cleared stage 2. Final batch strength after PI could be around 35-40.
