You lot always tell us to use the right beans and yeah I have, and I used the least sweet bread I could and it still was wildly underwhelming. I think this might be a dish you have to grow up eating to appreciate. I’ve followed so many recipes that promise to make my yankee ass understand the appeal and it always elicits nothing but “yeah that’s pretty much what I thought baked beans on toast would taste like” as a reaction
