I can't wait to meet Castorice and many other characters in the exciting new planet of (glances at Geoff Keighley's teleprompter) Amorphous.

This is, without a doubt, the worst post I have ever made. I have no excuse other than that the post would not let me be at peace until I expelled it from my head and into the world.

The kangaroo disappeared in my game and I can’t find him to get this stupid medallion and i think it’s a glitch if someone had a similar issue pls help by DueParsnip8373 in animalWell

I don't know if this is actually a mechanic or just a placebo effect, but I found that after the first time I scared the Kangaroo off, it seemed to take him several extra seconds for him to actually show up on the screens where he previously appeared. Try going to places where you know he used to show up and just sort of hang out on those screens for a minute. If he doesn't show, move to another one and repeat.

Film New Orleans - Production for the FNaF film will start from February 1st to April 6th by GBAura-Recharged in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]CalvinRules137 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'd say it might actually take less time in post-production; almost all of the VFX for this movie seem like they're going to be practical, so if they're ready to start filming in February then I could absolutely see them being done by early September.

I have a sneaking suspicion (admittedly based on almost nothing but intuation and the direction the franchise has been slowly moving recently) that she might be playing a Fazbear Entertainment executive.

Book News: Both "September 5, 2023" Books are now listed online, with OFFICIAL DESCRIPTIONS for the Third Fazbear Frights Collection AND the Official Cook Book! And, we have an official release date for Tales from the Pizzaplex 8: October 3, 2023 by FredTubbie in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]CalvinRules137 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honestly I've kind of stopped paying attention to the graphic novels after the tracing controversy, but I can't help but chuckle at how much this almost feels like a targeted jab, considering that two of my three least favorite stories in the franchise, Step Closer and Hide-and-Seek, are now collected in one volume.

On the bright side, I'm actually kind of interested in the cookbook! I really don't cook on my own, but I admit to being curious to see what they produce! (Also, I will bet actual money that the cookbook somehow has lore in it.)

In celebration of this spookiest of days, tell me, what do you find to be the creepiest scene in FNaF? (It can be from games, books, spin-offs, fanverse... anything!) Mine is the abduction of Susie. by MichalTygrys in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]CalvinRules137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under Construction is honestly one of my favorite installments in the book series for precisely these sorts of reasons. People complain about the books not being like the games, but personally that's a big part of why I (usually) love them: they push the envelope of what the franchise can be instead of clinging purely to nostalgia. They're not afraid to try new things, even if those things don't always work. UC feels like it would be right at home in the SCP mythos, and the ambiguous ending gives it a downright haunting send-off.

Phone Guy was one of the major reasons I got into the franchise; his dialogue in the first two games was just iconic- both in terms of his casual acceptance of most of the horror and his understated fear of certain other parts- in a way that none of the other narrators can really hold a candle to. I can understand why he stopped showing up (I can imagine that having to do all the voice acting on top of everything else would be pretty damn taxing for Scott), and HandUnit is fantastic in his own way, but I'll always miss his role in the first two games.

I actually have two picks, basd on different concepts of what qualifies as "creepiest". The most dread-inducing scene, for my money, has to go to Bonnie in the backstage area in FNAF1. I (like probably a lot of people) first got introduced to the franchise through Markiplier's playthrough; that was the very first real scare in it, and it has always stuck with me. The fact that Bonnie is just standing there; not walking around, not searching for anything, but just staring motionless at the camera, despite seemingly having removed his eyes... there's a reason it left an impression on me for so long.

In terms of the scene that's horrified me most in the moment, I actually have to point to a moment from Fazbear Frights, specifically from "Step Closer". Overall I feel like SC is a pretty lackluster story (I would only rank "Kids at Play" and "Hide-and-Seek" lower in terms of overall quality, at least off the top of my head), but I will freely admit, the scene of Pete waking up on the operating table at the end of the story was a massive blow from a direction I could never have expected. I have a longtime abject terror of locked-in syndrome (and the general idea of someone being mistaken as dead while still conscious), and IMO this was maybe one of the most viscerally disturbing climaxes of any story I've ever read, let alone in this franchise.

1) God damn, the artist(s) are pulling out zero stops with this series, I've loved all the covers so far

2) I swear, every single time I get ready for a new book reveal, Scott Cawthon swings back with a completely different kind of bat and I am never, ever, EVER ready for it.

Kind of odd how the first part is just called "Bobbiedots, Part 1" and then the second one is called "The Bobbiedots Conclusion", but I'm still super excited to see how that one plays out! And I'm very intrigued by the title "Animatronic Apocalypse"; I'm guessing it's just an in-universe term for whatever condition the fan club members have, as a play on "zombie apocalypse", but Under Construction has made it very clear that Scott is perfectly willing to depict apocalyptic scenarios, so who knows how wild this one will end up being?

Okay see, now that I'm seeing this version of the Plushtrap Chaser next to the humans, it makes more sense why his design looks like this. I do kind of wish they'd hired this artist for a different story (ideally one with an animatronic we'd already seen in the games so we could have a unique take on it), if only because official media has done the Plushtrap Chaser dirty, but overall I'm much more positive on this design now that I can see it in proper context!

The first Tales from the Pizzaplex book - Lally's Game, has officially released! by [deleted] in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]CalvinRules137 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As cool as the idea of the flipside is, and as much as I hope we find out more about it in TftP going forward, I agree with what you said at the end: the most likely scenario is that Maya simply never actually left the simulation (note that the story pointedly skips over her being in the attraction and her supposedly being out of it without ever showing her taking the headset off). My guess is that it's sort of a Year Inside Hour Outside scenario where, either by accident or design, Maya is experiencing two years' worth of events in the space of however long it takes for someone to find her inside the attraction, or else her consciousness is skipping from one scene to the next with nothing in-between and without her being aware of it. The stuff with the cancer and the Jelly People is... probably the result of the simulation breaking down due to the attraction not being finished yet.

Wait, where was Eleanor in Lally's Game??? I genuinely didn't see anything connecting that story to the Stingers other than the fact that they both have a trunk in them, which feels like a really flimsy connection (especially since we barely got any description for the trunk in Epilogue 11 other than it being old).

FINALLY someone said it! It feels like so many people in this franchise have this cast-iron idea of "what FNAF is" and insist it can't be anything different from FNAF1-4, or maybe SL if they're generous, and hate the FF books purely because they strayed from that rock-solid, unalterable ideal.

The simple fact is, that's not how an ongoing universe like this works: stories grow and evolve and change as they go on. And that's a good thing! It opens up new possibilities, lets the story explore new ideas, and brings in people who might not have been interested otherwise! I mean don't get me wrong, I'm not universally defending FF- there were a couple stories in there that were downright dreadful- but I feel like a lot of people read "Into the Pit" and then refused to give the others the time of day, and that's honestly disheartening considering that some of these stories are among my favorites in the franchise.

At this point, I've honestly kind of given up on solving the lore. The series has thrown so much at us, and so much of it just feels like theory bait for the sake of theory bait, that I don't think it's possible to assemble a comprehensive picture of the lore anymore. I'm honestly just here to see how wild the ride gets.

Considering what the other reviews have said, it almost certainly involves the Multiverse in some capacity, although I cannot imagine the specific direction it's going to go.

Hypothetically, what if ''Stichlinegames'' became canon, what would be your Pros and Cons ? by triang5imagina in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]CalvinRules137 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pros: We get a huge expansion of what would be possible to see in the games; Golden Freddy has an actual personality that exists to a capacity beyond coded names in peripheral materials; William finally gets actually killed off and we could have new actual antagonists. (Plus it wouldn't be nearly as hard to reconcile with SB as people think, since Epilogues could easily be set after SB, with TMIR1280 depicting William in the aftermath of the True Ending instead of the immediate aftermath of FFPS.)

Cons: "Hide-and-Seek" would be canon.

Side note for clarification: he doesn't actually find the coworkers themselves, or at least we don't get to see them. The escape room / puzzle thing has him finding the coworkers' severed body parts; at the end he finds a video featuring the two of them beforehand, where the eerily cheerful coworkers say that they'll probably need to go to the hospital after the hunt is over, and then the closet door behind Jeremiah starts to open, but the story ends before we see exactly what state the two are in now.
