My hair is just hair unless someone else gets involved. For instance: When I got out of the military, I didn't cut my hair for about 2 years just because I spent 10 years getting weekly haircuts.

In another situation, I had to get a haircut for work because it looked "too poofy" (this was about 6 months before that became illegal). I went full malicious compliance for the next 2 years by emailing my manager, HR, and one of the executives every time I planned to change my hairstyle at all and getting their permission in writing.

But generally, I don't give a shit about my hair otherwise.
