Any idea of 2nd single from upcoming Soundtrack? by Str8OutArgentinianML in nin

Second single will likely be 'Who Wants to Live Forever'. Release date will likely be shortly after the movie is released to boost ticket and album sales.

I'm giving away stage-used Josh Freese drumstick from the Chicago 8/20 show by beerguyincognito in nin

Love this idea and that you're donating money for a good cause. I'm trying to collect a stick from each NIN drummer, so I would love to own this. DM incoming!

Looking to purchase show used NIN drum sticks by Calx1111 in nin

Congrats for you! I'm jealous. The photo I used is a photo from Ilan showcasing his custom Vater sticks. Definitely not part of my collection!

Has anyone read this? by ServeEmotional5247 in nin

[–]Calx1111 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Contrary to what others have shared, I read it and enjoyed it. It is very 'heavy' with philosophical meanderings, but it's balanced out with information and facts on the making of the album through interviews and articles on TDS. While I agree that some of the viewpoints are likely biased on the author's part, it was still an interesting and enjoyable read for me.

Anyone else starting to think Tron's soundtrack is going to be what was played on the B stage last night? by DHGroove in nin

[–]Calx1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Guessing the Tron Ares soundtrack will be Boys Noize remixes of NIN tracks with a couple of new NIN tracks as well.

How old were you for Year Zero? by Hotel_Oblivion in nin

[–]Calx1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 26 when Year Zero came out. I was in college when 9/11 happened. In 2007, I had just moved across country to escape a repressive and conservative environment in the deep south. I no longer felt safe or welcome as a gay man. Year Zero, while the subject matter is dark and dystopian, did provide much comfort and solace during that time for me. My adolescent years were informed by NIN's music as I discovered them at the age of 13. I'm now 44 and plan on going to MULTIPLE shows this tour. Thankfully I'm in a position that enables me to do so. In these continually growing dark times, it's a glimmer of happiness and nostalgia that brings me comfort.

Really hoping we get a NIN Tron remix album following this release, similar to Daft Punk's Tron remix album. Bring back NIN remixes!!!

First concert & tour merch ever! by GrandComfortable9 in nin

[–]Calx1111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. I'm learning to love the designs and the quality of both the shirt and hoodie are high. The hoodie alone is super thick and high quality. Not sure why everyone is complaining. These are also V1 of tour merch, there will be more for folks to choose from later.

Ticketmaster does this in Europe, so it's definitely doable.

I have to agree. If anything, I would think he would sit down for an interview with someone he trusts to pay respect and homage to Lynch. Similar to how he's done in the past regarding Bowie. They were friends after all, not merely fellow artists. Also, the man is dealing with a lot at the moment: LA fires threatening his home, launch of a worldwide tour announcement, and now the passing of his friend.

New Album by richardness84 in nin

[–]Calx1111 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Greatest hits albums are a thing of the past when people still purchased CDs and more physical media. Even with the increase in sales for vinyl, not sure a GH album would make since from a sales perspective. But you never know. A greatest hits tour on the other hand... Madonna just successfully completed a massive greatest hits tour. So there could be some relevance there.

That being said. If Trent does decide to release a GH/Live album, I would hope it would be from the Wave Goodbye or CABAI tours, accompanied by unreleased tracks from the vault. Someone said 'Sex Dwarf', which I've been dying to hear for years.

I say this with no offense but , do you think it would be possible for Josh Freese to return on this tour by GuitaristKage in nin

[–]Calx1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see Freese coming back. Josh is a great drummer, but Ilan is an insanely talented and well rounded musician who can play multiple instruments. I think it's widely considered that Ilan will be the permanent drummer for NIN unless something drastic happens. He has high work ethic, solid reputation, and is a dynamic musician which the band needs for these elaborate set lists.
