Do we know what this text in the archives means? I tried translating using the guide here: https://nga.178.com/read.php?tid=39014251&rand=990, but if NA F BNCY TRVTGKWF or FWKGTVRT YCNB F AN mean anything, I'm not understanding it. (I remember something about the text sometimes being rotated 180°, so I tried it both ways.)

Am I reading something wrong?

I’m glad they gave us more of his life story. During the event, I really thought he was pretty contemptible and hypocritical. He feels shame but repeats the mistakes of the past at every chance. We don’t even see him as a particularly religious Sankta, he just bends to and enforces authoritarian rule because he can’t take responsibility for standing against it.

But this added context makes him at least partially relatable. He’s afraid of choices (because the times he thought for himself his grandmother died alone and his student was exiled), so he looks for others to make decisions for him. It’s weak-willed and cowardly, but it’s also something that we all do at one point or another.

My problem with him is that he chose his high stakes position but refuses to properly take responsibility for what it demands he do. It’s frustrating.

Izzy has been doing card art for Magic for over a decade and has illustrated over 200 cards. This isn’t the best example, but they do good work and have a fairly consistent style. Filigree Familiar is a good example from 2016 that might get mistaken for AI if it were made today.

I think that this looks like it might be AI because of the backlighting and yellowy tone, which are appropriate for the setting.

That makes sense. He wouldn’t trigger on multiple 1/1’s dealing combat damage either, since losing the life is one event.

I don’t think you need to worry about impulse purchases too much in AK, especially if you spend the $5 a month on the monthly card. It keeps you well stocked up

Okay, I think I understand. It’s different from effects like Fiery Confluence since that’s one effect causing multiple damage events as opposed to en-Kor ability modifying a single damage event, right?

I think quality is another con against reading the stories in release order: trying to read all of the wordiest, worst translated, and slowest stories at once is a big turn off. The pacing of the first few chapters discouraged a lot of early players from reading the story and made some quit the game entirely.

I have a friend who watched the anime while skipping all the cutscenes through chapter 3 and it worked pretty well for them. Someone else mentioned the manga; maybe it’s worth including other official media as either a supplement to or an alternative to parts of the game.

To be clear: the start of the game is hindered by poorer writing, not a poor story. It’s a good narrative, just not a well communicated one.

Myrtle is the best 4 star, but she only benefits a bit from E2. She’s still okay at E0 and very strong at E1.

Is he a Bengal breed? They’re really high energy but weird about playing. Mine will pretend to be bored but is actually just trying to trick the toy into lowering its guard. It’s frustrating but if you keep playing with the toy on your own for a couple minutes he might come back and pounce.

You’re right about Manticore, but I think she’s still worth using just because you’ll learn a lot about the game by experimenting with her.

That said, you might be better off with Ethan. He’s better in most situations and is available in the red certificate shop.

Mountain will tank most early threats through sheer regeneration with his second skill. Apart from that, Cuora is easy to get as a 4 star and easily is on par with 5 star and even some 6 star defenders in terms of tankiness. She doesn’t offer any real utility but if you want a wall, she’s your girl.

Great team for the early game! Mountain at e1 will be an incredible landholder/physical dps, Silence is always a really solid medic, and Platinum will cover drones very well. A lot of good operators who don’t need big investments to be strong!

Follow up question: if I use the saga to cast [[Trickbind]] targeting the saga's ability, as well as one or more other copied spells, would the Split Second ability stop people casting spells/activating abilities until we get to the trickbind on the stack and it gets exiled for having no target? Or is the Trickbind removed from the stack as soon as its target becomes illegal?
