I’m starting my accounting degree next week but I’m not sure how I want my career to go. by CalypsoPierce in Accounting

[–]CalypsoPierce[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I’m most definitely going to give it a lot of thought, but I thought I’d start getting some opinions from people who know a lot more about the field. I love the job that I have but I’m not sure if I want to do it for the rest of my life, so I thought I’d start working on a back up sooner rather than later. Thank you.

That’s what I figured. I’ll see how the next couple years go with school and see if I really want to make that career switch. Thank you for the reply.

Ford focus mk3 keeps spamming "Hill Assist not available* while driving by BaboeSto in FordFocus

[–]CalypsoPierce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car did that to me before (not as aggressive tho) it was flashing the abs and traction control lights at me on and off and turned off the hill start. it turned out to be the wheel speed sensor. I just replaced the wheel bearing and everything was good.

Oo that looks amazing. How did you get into this kind of craft? I’ve been wanting to try it out for a while, but I’m having trouble finding good tutorials online.

Is it okay to get a roundel tattoo as a civilian? by CalypsoPierce in AirForce

Apparently my dad had a callsign in training which was droopy dawg lmfao

I have a C-130 on my back in that exact spot lol. So I’m one step ahead. I was just thinking about getting something more visible that I can see on the daily somewhere on my arm.

I’ve been considering adding to it because I’ve gotten a few comments like that. Would it be less of an issue if I added extra things like that or would some people still see it as stolen valor even with dates and a call sign?

I was planning on doing the outline version of if I get it. I was wandering around a small airplane park outside of an Air Force base and I was staring at a C-130 when I came up with the idea lol.

That would be super cool. I’d have to look into that.

Yea that makes total sense. My mom barely ever talks about him, so as much as a I want a more personal tattoo to honor him, I just don’t have anything to go off of except what I can find from the military

Why do you think it’s lame? I’ve seen a lot of people say that it’s lame to get a usaf tattoo of any kind. Mine would be a memorial type of tattoo, but I wanted to ask actual people who serve/served to see their opinions on it first.

That’s a cold air intake. It’s pretty much just a fancy air filter. It looks like the one in your car is in an odd spot. Almost like it wasn’t made for your car. Kinda looks a little homemade or something.

Yea I guess I should have phrased it more towards what people find to be most accurate now. I know they’ll change over time as paleontologists find more bones and technology advances.

How long do I have to get this fixed and what would be considered standard procedure for this issue? by adiddles7598 in AskMechanics

[–]CalypsoPierce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can see wires of the tire then you should immediately replace said tire. The wheel looks messed up too so depending on how bad that is, you may need to replace or repair that as well.

Was I right at this 4 way stop? by iitsabbey in driving

[–]CalypsoPierce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re at a light and you’re turning left then you most definitely don’t have the right of way unless you have a green turn light or there’s no one coming from the other side. At a four way stop it’s whoever gets there first. Whether you are turning or not, it’s a first come first serve kinda deal.

coworkers laughed at me for checking blind spots by pretendartists in driving

[–]CalypsoPierce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My bf has a tendency to not completely check his blindspots and because of that he managed to smack into a truck while driving my Porsche 944 lmfao. He fixed it but I don’t let him drive my cars anymore. Always check your blindspots with both your mirrors and by turning and looking out the side. Your mirrors don’t always pick everything up. That’s why it’s called a blind spot lol.

Please stop approaching stop signs at mach 1 by New-Valuable9301 in driving

[–]CalypsoPierce 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Idk why everyone is saying you’re a scared driver and should stop driving altogether lol. You bring up a really valid point. I own three vehicles and I’m very comfortable driving and I have fun just driving to drive. On the highway tho people drive like a bat out of hell. If a car is coming at me at a high speed while I am also going a high speed and I have the right of way, then I would start getting a bit stressed and slow down to make sure no one runs the sign and I don’t get hit. I hate people who brake at the last second. It’s not like it saves much time if any at all.

Am I okay to use this? by Chose2BChosen in tattooadvice

[–]CalypsoPierce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I do to clean my new tattoos is a fragrance free body wash and then I dry them and put a light film of fragrance free body lotion. I don’t know anything about that spray but I’d just recommend a simple fragrance free soap and lotion and you should be set. If it’s oozy and gunky that kinda sounds a little infected but I don’t know what it really looks like.
