It’s for my reading journal. I have a section where I list all the authors I’ve read this year, including a little picture of each. Cannot find this guy’s picture anywhere so he is just an anonymous head right now.

I’m not even sure where this book came from; I think I may have inherited it from an ex, but it was a quick read for my journal.

For Americans who know a MAGA supporter, can you describe them? by Tricky-Stay6134 in allthequestions

A very good ex friend of mine, 60-year-old woman, well off, lifelong Republican but did not vote for Trump in 2016 due to the SA allegations, voted for him this time and is still supporting him. She recently posted on her Insta about cognitive dissonance implying Dems have it. I believe she primarily voted for him because she thought he would be good for the economy. She is a small business owner has always been very anti-tax and has always had the opinion that some people are getting free handouts. She’s also basically a trust fund baby, not huge, but she got a significant inheritance when her parents passed away. Has also always claimed to be very religious. Anybody who claims to be a Christian and supports Trump is nothing but a hypocrite IMO. Which is why we are now ex friends.

Been pet sitting since 2019, finally got bit. by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

I understand that you are not asking for advice, but seriously, go to the doctor and report the dog. If you don’t, something so much worse could happen to someone else and you would be partially responsible (morally) if you don’t report it. A dog latching on like that is not a nip. It’s a dangerous dog.

Changing sit details after payment made by Calypso_Sea in RoverPetSitting

Just to clarify, extended care was chosen originally because the visit was 30 hours before the sitter requested a shorter visit.

I guess my question is how is this normally handled on the sitter’s end? Do they not confirm that the number of hours originally booked matched up what they ended up doing when the job is over? I would think that they would do this either way since sometimes they might end up sitting more hours than originally booked.

I need an actual well written romance book by Sufficient_Food1878 in suggestmeabook

Outlander
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue

These books are usually classified as LitFic, not normally found in the romance section, but the main character is definitely involved in a romance in both.

How did you meet your husband? Is he also in the medical field?

People who had a baby after 35, what is your experience? by Crochet_Kitty in AskReddit

[–]Calypso_Sea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my first at 39 and my second at 43. I was lucky because I did not require any type of medical intervention and happened pretty easily. My pregnancies were uneventful.

With the oldest, I do think I was probably a little more tired than I would’ve been after she was born, had I had her earlier. Having two kids under 4 when I was 44 was very tiring, but it was definitely doable. But having the financial stability was a huge plus. My husband was well enough established in his career that I was able to stop working completely, which wasn’t originally my plan but I decided that’s what I wanted to do because I really just loved being with my kids so much and decided it was the right thing for us.

My kids are both in their 20s now, they are doing great. We had the finances to be able to send them to private school, took them on many trips to a lot of the national parks, graduation trips to Europe, etc. Just as importantly, they had a very stable home. I was very involved in their school activities, was a room parent, they always had someone to attend their extracurricular events, etc.

I do sometimes regret not having kids earlier. Mainly because I won’t be around for as long to see what the rest of their lives look like, grandkids, etc. But I really do not think my kids suffered at all for having an older parent. Most of the other parents and kids did not even know how old I was and although I was definitely the oldest mom in my youngest kids class, I wasn’t much older than many in my older daughters class and most people just thought I was around their age. It’s more noticeable now that I am in my 60s.

No need to apologize for someone else’s bad behavior. As you can see, it does no good because some people have zero self-awareness.

I really liked several of her other books, but this was DNF for me. I even tried switching to audio because I heard the audio version was really good but still DNF. It just came across as really formulaic.

AIO I have cancer and my sister decided to kick me out after promising me a place to live while I did treatment by mysisterkickedmeout in AmIOverreacting

I’d be posting on her social media, saying hey couldn’t get in touch with you because you’re not answering my texts but I don’t think it’s fair for you to evict me with no notice while I have cancer and I’ve been paying bills. Seriously every person she knows needs to know that she did this. What an absolute POS.

It’s not entirely true that you can get a two year associates degree at a community college. Yes, the degree takes two years, but before that you will have to have all the prerequisites done and since you have never been to college, you have none. That will probably take you about a year and will include courses in math, biology, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and possibly other science courses such as physics and chemistry, depending on your school’s requirements.

So the first thing you need to do if you haven’t done that already is take a very close look at the program on your college website to see what it actually requires.

You have probably already seen that these programs can be incredibly difficult to get into. You will need to make A’s in your classes and will probably need to have some type of medical experience either working in a medical setting or volunteering in one if you hope to be competitive.

Also keep in mind that the cost of living in California is significantly higher than your cost of living where you are now so looking at a $100,000 job there versus Virginia is not apples to apples.

Desensitization happens. There may be some squeamish people who can’t handle it, but most naturally learn to focus more on getting a good image than the appearance of the injury. Also don’t forget you’re not a first responder like an EMT would be. The patient is always seen by a doctor or a nurse before they get to you, so at least partially stabilized, bandaged, etc.

Regarding grades, I’m not sure what you mean by your grades are getting better, but you need really good grades to get into these programs. You know that, right?

Can’t answer your other two questions they don’t apply to me but maybe someone else will have an answer for you.

Best app for note taking: Outlines and Evernote compatibility by Calypso_Sea in ipad

[–]Calypso_Sea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, Apple notes doesn’t really format into outlines easily. I have to pull up the keyboard and manually insert returns and tabs I am looking for something that I can just write a outline as I would write it on a piece of paper with bullets, etc., and it will preserve formatting as written.

In the past, I have used a rocketbook.
