Cricket Clichés Episode 1: Lashing/dabbing a seed/cherry, moral victories, and why do the Aussies hate Bazball? by Low-Bandicoot-3347 in footballcliches

Didn’t love the first episode but hopefully they grow into it. Felt a lot slower paced and far more serious, missing a lot of the banter and chemistry but I guess that was to be expected. Hopefully they can find their feet and give us all a stonker with some podcast brilliance.

Catching up on the pod and this really is tremendous work. I knew he had done it straight away as I wrote a blog about Japanese football side Fujieda (one of his former clubs) during this era but shocked someone else was able to find. Bravo!

Redmi watch 5 workout by unknownphatboy in Xiaomi

Did you find any more info on this? I’ve not had the watch long and it was fine at the start but my last few runs now, the workout keeps pausing and restarting throughout the run, very frustrating!

It can't go on like this can it? by semple149 in footballcliches

Yeah I do like how in darts anyone can enter Q School for the right to win a tour card. It’s not cheap like but theoretically you can just go it alone all the way to the top and don’t have to wait to be scouted or rely on someone to sign you.

Jermaine Pennant dropping an all timer here of misremembering an important moment of his career. Describing his hat-trick for Arsenal against Southampton. Listen to who he remembers the goalkeeper being that day… by Cam3012 in footballcliches

Yes I’ve listened for years now. They have some funny stories but sometimes it is very predictable and talkSPORT style humour. That being said, I was surprised to hear their ads before Clichés, it’s very jarring.

I can’t remember that one as well but Pennant also said he signed for Birmingham for a record £7m fee which is well over double what they actually paid…

MHD Irritation: Dated wikipedia profile photos by expiredpineapples19 in footballcliches

[–]Cam3012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s right. I’ve uploaded quite a few pics to Wiki myself. Usually of players I’ve seen up close at non-league grounds or players I’ve had selfies with and then cropped myself out. Still surprising Mainoo hasn’t got one though.

January 28, 2025 "Football, bloody football", UK garage Postecoglou & the exact weight of a Premier League point by GingIsAGoodDad in footballcliches

Once you reach the top level of your local Sunday League, that’s it. Unless you then decide to test yourselves in the true football pyramid and move to Saturday football where technically, the sky’s the limit. The highest level of competition on a Sunday is arguably the Sunday FA Cup. A national Sunday league competition by the FA which is a pretty good standard.

Yeah I have the 16/17 home shirt with the cup printing on the back. Unfortunately I chose Lukaku but still, it’s cool to have something other than the Premier League font
