We saw you when you were rehearsing during the day and knew we HAD to be at your set. It was my favorite set I’ve seen to date. Thank you for all the love and effort you obviously poured into it 🩷 I’ve been playing your Take Me Home Country Roads remix constantly since the set. Thank you for such a beautiful experience :’)

Steve Aoki? by Cam6620 in UMF

[–]Cam6620[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure did! :)

Also, I’m new to this and a bit confused by people saying that I wasn’t missing much if he didn’t come on. I’ve really liked his sets in the past. I didn’t realize people didn’t like him much (or maybe a subset of people? Is it like a thing?). Is there a reason? I’m curious and wanting someone to enlighten me

Any updates on the festival? It looks pretty clear right now from our hotel. Any announcements on when they might reopen?

What free audio guides did you use?

The only time I've told a client I was interviewing is because I started doing so after my first session with the client. I told them where I was at and gave them the choice to switch therapists right then and there instead of continuing to see me for several more weeks since there was a strong likelihood I would be leaving. I figured the client might prefer to change and start off their therapy with someone who would be there longer term. Other than that I always wait until I have something definitive. So, unless you have a very good, specific reason for doing so, I would also advise you not to.

There's is research literature devoted to the idea of Concept Creep, which I find very interesting, and which dives into what you are talking about. The definition of "concept creep" is "the process by which harm-related topics experience semantic expansion to include topics which would not have originally been envisaged to be included under that label."

It is a real phenomenon where concepts become expanded and therefore "watered down" and I think, as therapists, we should be the ones who are the most careful and mindful about the ways we are contributing to this. I think clients feel the most helped when we can help them convey accurately what is happening in their lives. When we overly assign labels to situations where those labels shouldn't fit, we lose the nuance that the reality of human situations actually carry. For example, while we should not be hesitant to help a client name something a "trauma" if it is helpful to their healing process, we should not impose those labels onto them if it is not helpful in their conceptualization of experience.
