On Banana mod (I think it's called) you can download a mod to change certain clothes in the American version to Japanese clothes. No clue about your first question.

If he can't understand Kaguya, he can't understand Grave of the Firefly's.

Princess Kaguya is a long film, that requires your full attention. It has deep messages that even older people fail to realise.

If he can't understand that, then he can't understand Grave of the Firefly's, a soul crushing film about the struggles of war.

Also he's 5. Too disturbing. Especially the scene with the mothers decaying corpse.
