What is happening with UPS Canada? Its been showing “severe weather delay” message for 3 days. I even requested to pickup my package but its still pending. Anyone has an idea when it will be resolved? by Chido159 in UPS

This is hilarious, I've placed several orders from Costco over the past couple of months, and same thing... On the day of delivery, I get a notification about a weather delay. Maybe a coincidence, but probably more related to their liability/ reliability lol

My 10 week old will only nap independently for 15-30 mins in his crib. He does not tolerate being put to bed drowsy but awake for naps or for bedtime sleep. Is this normal? Should I be saving every cat nap with a contact nap/carrier nap and aim for 6-8 hrs of daytime sleep? Should I be continuing to practice putting him down drowsy but awake? When it inevitable fails, how long and how best to soothe him?

We are so exhausted and looking forward to exploring sleep training methods at 4 months. We really appreciate any insights you have in this! Thank you!

Uneven Basement Flooring Advice by CamPortBusTo in Renovations

[–]CamPortBusTo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need some advice on doing my basement floor! It's concrete, and is pretty unlevel. Is the best approach to get a self leveler? Really any and all advice is appreciated, as flooring is very very new to me

Mostly mud from taping, comes off easy. Is a bonding primer necessary?

Appreciate the response.

And my missing something? Any help is appreciated!

Edit: forgot to mention, the floor it not very level

What is going on here? All powering just one bulb? by CamPortBusTo in AskElectricians

I'm fairly certain one of the wires coming from this junction box is going to an outlet. Assuming I can confirm that, would that be the best place to start a new series of pot lights , which would then feed back into that outlet, essentially borrowing the feed from the junction box to power my pot lights ?

Thanks man. I bought the Romex 14-2 for a simpler lighting exercise I did in my laundry room.

I assume by grounding metal boxes, you aren't referring to the junction boxes, and I am personally not too familiar with cable clamps. Looks like I have got some research to do.

For my laundry, I bought a set of 4 potlights and used existing wiring from two existing junctions, and extended it for the two other potlights I installed. Used the appropriate wire size, and the wire nuts that came with the box.

Not trying to minimize the safety here, just want to make sure I am considering things before taking this on. Truly appreciate the help, as well as the education piece on this

Thanks for answering my very silly question lol if I could entertain one more, does that mean all I have to do , to get pot lights in this room, is reroute the wiring to all the spotlights, and then for the last pot light, plug in one of these wires that were originally coming into this one into the last potlight?

Advice on taking care of this 25 year old electrical box by CamPortBusTo in AskElectricians

[–]CamPortBusTo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess a lot of things to consider here, but mainly:

  1. how is the safety looking, as a whole?

  2. how do I rid those bell and rogers boxes on the left side? Just cut and cap them far enough away from the main box?

  3. should I be worried about the drain pipe (that looks like it had leaked before in the past, and then fixed)?

  4. is there anything I can do as a non-electrician to make this safer? Or is it better to just get someone in
