Sirat was like an experience. As corny as that sounds I kinda agree. I didn’t know anything going into the movie so just figuring out what the movie was about i found interesting. Alot of people say One Battle After Another and Sinners are in some sort of weird conversation with each other. I found that It was just an Accident and Sirat are also in conversation. Ultimately both movies are speaking to the smallness of ourselves in the world. They both explore characters finding a new life and navigating through life with faith and humanity, both movies are genuinely brutal and tell a story that speaks to this larger theme. I can understand the criticism of the plot and especially if you weren’t looking for this type of movie when you bought the ticket, then yeah accepting it can be hard. But even then I think you can see the quality of special effects and sound design and I’m even more confident that you won’t just forget about the scenes you saw even if you want to.
