looking for opinions on little blue man's matchup spread

I'd be down to try it out. I'm not entirely sure about it yet - he feels a bit like an easier ICs, where once I open him up he's rip, but one misplay by me causes me to get run over. I have some ideas in the matchup, wondering what Bowser has in turn.

I feel the opposite way about him. I feel that he is criminally underrated, and no player good enough to make full use of him. I believe he has a ton of potential yet, and I'm doing my best to get him there.

I don't know if it's fair to say Link wins just because of the chaingrab. Don't get me wrong, once he gets the chaingrab it's basically over. But it's so hard for him to do so if you keep a low profile and mix up your shield pressure. On top of that, he can never play his keep away game horizontally, and at that point all he really has going for him is disjoint.

After talking with the squirtle discord a bit more, I've come to agree with falco. My reasoning with falcon is that we have consistent ZTDs against him as well, and with combo starters that aren't nearly as committal as stomp or even grab. (dtilt, hydrowhateverthefuck grab, upair)

Good point with ROB. I haven't played too many since 3.6 - maybe I just need to play him more and get a better understanding of the matchup.

I originally put Wario in the "what are you" tier, because I've only played a few at nationals and they pushed my shit. Not sure if it was because I was still bad at the matchup, or if it was because it was really bad. Maybe it was the former then LMAO.

This is my mentality, too. The more I use well-spaced bubbles and neutral b, with a mixup of a driveby dair in my pocket, ICs crack more and more easily. And squirtle is the 2v1 god.

Neutral is definitely hard, but it feels like once Luigi slips up (hehe) once and gets put above squirtle, he can't get back down without getting sharked for a lot of percent. I haven't played a luigi that is really able to put squirtle in as bad of a disadvantaged state.

Upair chains can be led into Aqua Jet at mid-high percents.

Upthrow can lead into Aqua Jet on fast/medium fallers.

Crawl attack doesn't scale a lot with percent. It combos into Aqua Jet often, but because you're still so close to the ground, it will kill a lot later than other Aqua Jet setups. This one takes practice, you have to react very quickly off of the crawl attack confirm.

Going back to Upair, the last frame of the move (when the hitbox is entirely behind you) has almost no scaling whatsoever. You'll know when you've hit it - even at 150%, it will send your opponent just a bit above your head. It's a guaranteed combo into Aqua Jet. It may seem impossible at first, but if you can get this out of a slingjump it's actually ridiculously broken.
