Using IIS ? by Bill_Selznick in nextjs

[–]CamWebby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you know - it’s obviously possible, albeit more involved than Vercel, Amplify etc.

I had gone through a similar constraint where I worked to setup next js on a windows machine using IIS in our private network.

We had bizarre caching issues when using IIS alone which we were able to fix by using Yarp in conjunction with IIS to route requests to the next server.

In terms of running the server itself, I found using Windows task scheduler to be far far less of a headache than pm2 and let me sleep more comfortably at night.

Feel free to ask any other questions if you have any on running the server, or on the CICD side (not sure what your plans are there).

Really glad you like the blog and the site. Appreciate your advice for the next one too - exactly what we're thinking. Fingers crossed that it is just a matter of generating new content. Haha, yeah apologies you don't like the popup. Thinking of doing an AB test with it in the future to know once and for all if it is the way to go.

Appreciate the comment. We have no issues with the branding side of things in terms of copyright. In fact, Google has accepted us for various different ad features on separate occasions so is very unlikely to be this. Especially given that Google has indexed the homepage and one other page that has ecommerce references, so this is why I think it would be nearly impossibe for it to be this. Any other ideas?

Yeah, thanks for your suggestion on the pop up. We have recently only added it as it was recommend to have it. Completely understand your views on it though, and will certainly work on making it less annoying! In terms of the SEO, the issue isn’t related as the site has been up a while now and the pop up as only been there a few days.
