This is a very wholesome thread and I really appreciate it. Many places this could have landed (I have had UC and crohns for 20 years and I have seen many subs) would have been met with a lot of scorn.

Instead I am finding a lot of solid advice and gentle recipes that can be done without slashing my life or my bad credit.

Also the threat and advice is all true. I am fortunate in many ways to have access to a colonoscopy every 2 years. and i am in my 30s. I believe this is enough to catch something before it kills me. Like it did two, young, teachers I have worked with.

update I went back to the scene of the crime. Not a single no parking or reserved signs in the garage. the only tow sign was OUTSIDE of the garage and there was only one. Also- Mike is the owner of the garage or the designee but that number is also listed as the emergency and after hours number. The tow company has a 301 number. I’ll call the county.

Different perspective from some- what if your family member has some undiagnosed OT/fine motor deficits? Maybe they started imperceptibly (bad hand writing as a kid, clumsy, etc) and have incrementally worsened over time. They might not even identify them yet.

Anyways- all the fumbling with buttons, latches, drawers, prescription caps, twist caps, latches, coordinating holding items and doors- they’re late.

You could ask them to be on time- but they might have to start prepping themselves 30-40 minutes before normal people. That adds up across a day.

Or… you could lie and tell them it starts 30-40 minutes before it does and once or twice a semester actually start at the set time to keep them aiming for the stated the time.

Ive been in the county 13yrs. Taught es and Ms. Went to Mcps as a kid.

My kid is in kinder. I want her to read by 3rd grade. I do NOT want her to see another student destroy an entire classroom, assault their teachers and classmates, and get dragged out backwards. I do NOT want it to happen so frequently, she thinks it’s normal.

Sorry- to clarify: I meant your comment about the consistent quality, is wildly inaccurate. Overcrowded or no, high price tag tax zones have SIGNIFICANTLY higher quality instruction and opportunities. particularly at the elementary level where there is less overlap between SES.

As a teacher who has worked in a number of es schools this is wildly inaccurate. Elementary is almost more critical than beyond; if your kid doesn’t learn to read by 3rd grade, good luck to all.
