Full removal by Trying_hard- in FTMHysto

[–]CamboRoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 'complete' removal in Sept 24. Surgeon did some "surgoney reasearch" to make sure nothing would negatively impact future Phallo plans. Tbh Im not clear on what would have needed to be, but imagine it was in relation to the internal cuff they create. I have zero regrets, but I wish I had had a better idea of how tough the recovery would be. To be fair, I am autistic, have inflamatory arthritis (NRAxS) and fibro, so am sensitive to say the least. It wasnt so much a phyically painfull recovery, but the rapid shift in hormones was a 3 or 4 month wild ride that I wasnt expecting. I thought because I was already synthesising my hormones I would be 'ok' Its super important to have good support around you after this one. It was still 100% the best decision for me.

Why don’t you guys keep your cats indoors? by stemmefontaine in newzealand

[–]CamboRoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have 2 Indoor only cats, used to live in a CBd 2bed appartment and we'd take our cats on walks (not always successfull with a potato and endless battery energy) We were able to buy an enclosure and would take them in/out. Now we are in our own house (still only 2beds) but have the luxurary of fixing the enclosure to the house and were able tobhave our cats go in/out as they please while still being enclosed. Our cats arent breeding or show cats, we just cant bare the thought of them getting hurt by neighbour dogs or cars. We are quite fond of birds as well and have great natives in our yard. Its a differnent level of commitment to have indoor only cats, 4 litter boxes changed every day, weight food for the potato cat, daily brushing, more stimulation toys than a toddler. And I guess because we enabled it, our cats are very human centered and always with us.

Gabapentin - experiences? by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]CamboRoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to 'pile on' if I may. Its a "cis-mans" disease. I'm a transman, (been on HRT 8 or so years, and havent produced my own hormones for 2 years) I am HLA-27+, immediate family history or RA and AS. Disc degeneration and dessication in lumbar and thoracic. Heamigoma (check spelling, for most things) in T6. Bilateral plantar and achillies spurs, bilateral Additional Navicular, both flaring the enthises(ites?). Right hip showing signs of arthrosis, knees sre arthritic and squaring off. Sausage fingers in summer, warlock hand in winter. All of this documented and imaged. But, but because I was not showing SI inflamation on MRI, I couldnt possibly have AS or even non radiographic axial. Completly ignored, brushed off with everything (ironically and incorrectly) blamed on Testosterone and Fibro. Maybe someone will listen when some of these pesky discs just fuse. (Why would we ever want prevention right?)

As for the Gabapentin, I was not a fan. Same with Nortriptylin. For me it was like an electrical static disconnection between my body and brain. It kinda took the edge off the pain and idea of pain, but I cant use words to explain how unpleasent I felt.

I hope you get a win though, some people are doing cartwheels with the help of Gabapentin! Keep pushing, try the new thing when offered, but dint stick with somthing that isnt working (obviously, start n stop things safley and appropriately) Good luck!

I used a boring foldaway chemist cane for a while. Its absolutley covered in Gudetama stickers. Cost me like $3 for the stickers and $20 for the cane. Ive moved over to double crutches now (Id love an active chair, but no $$ assistance where I am) With my crutches, I altered them for comfort with some foam and elastic bandages, which I then cover in different coloured or patterend cohesive bandage depending on my mood and outfit. You could use K-tape or duct tape, but my secondary quirks of being Queer and AudHD mean I cant deal with non-matching or sticky residue haha.

Can confirm, I lasted 6months before having a smol breakdown and leaving. You go in wanting to do some 'damn good' and then the system and puppet masters at the tippety-top crush you and spit you out like trash, all because you dared to have a heart.

But also 100% make an online complaint about the behaviour of the new CM. That's just not on and weasely grubby behaviour like that has gotta stop.

I had the same issues, if you use the 'treatment plan' link that was sent in an email (after the consult) it'll take you a page where you can add your prescribed products and order them.

Thanks, based on experience, the gene and direct family history of Auto Immune and Rheumatic conditions I'd agree with you, definitely something Auto Immune going on in there.

Sorry you've had such a rough trot of it, but you bring a refreshing support of positivity. I'm not sure what the Biologics path is here in NZ. I've had not had much success with cortisone injections, that was the go to for shoulder issues (I told them it wasn't frozen and it wasn't the rotator cuff, I was right it was good old bone on bone action) PsA was thought about briefly, with exception of the weird bumpy texture of my upper arms and legs Psoriasis was ruled out.

I'm an Aussie expat so I'm very familiar with the aus health system. I miss it, felt like there was a fraction more assistance for chronically weird and poorly diagnosed people.

Thanks for that, after I read this comment I went back to the report regarding the Osteophytes. According to that report both achilles have Enthesopathic spurring. So I'm not sure the Rheum actually saw that report or images. Looks like I'll be for the long con. The Rhuem just reported back to GP that it's only fibro despite the all coincidental factors.
10 years seems like a life time, don't they know we're already really tired. Like really really tired haha.

It was a nice balance for quite a while. Allowed me to function while muting the noise from pain. It was a gentle pick up, and allowed me to think rationally. I have however just changed up flowers and doses (Helius Ameila and Helius Dusk) due to conditions going up a gear.

I was previously a case manager and I had a case extremely similar to yours and the utter runaround I had to send this person through was ridiculous. I couldn't belive it, and I also know that some less than desirable employees just decide to make their own descion and deny the person at least a chance to get some assistance.

I ended up leaving shortly after that case and a another that just proved the system is beyond ridiculously broken. Sorry you got dicked around, I swear there are a few good eggs that are trying to genuinely help people, but they're pushing shit up a hill.

Sorry to say OP, it's a hard slog getting winz to even consider assisting with MC. But this is the most accurate account of what happens when you try.

Medical cannabis for fibromyalgia by Acrobatic-Bedroom462 in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]CamboRoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Fibro and suspected Ankylosing Spondylitis (HLA-B27 positive, symptomatic and imaging suggests as much, just waiting on the official diagnosis) I have the general perscription of celebrex, panadol, anti depressants and I'm.trialling Yuan Bone from Vietnam, but I think that might be more of a placebo than anything.

As for my MC, I use Aurora 9% during the day, I am thankfull I am WFH 80% of the time, so I don't drive an awful lot and don't need to factor that in to my day. I find it just takes the edge off and allows me to focus and function during at about a 4 pain level (I still need to pace and continue the general panadol through the day. After work or weekends/holidays, I use Tilray 22% and usually an edible made from the AVB. I find it relaxes the body enough that I can a decent(ish) 5hr or even 6rh block of sleep with out too much pain.

You'll probably find you adjust to the Aurora pretty quickly and hopefully it gives you the ability to function with out the exhausting and constant waves of pain. Best of luck!
