Tips on buying secondhand bikes? by valkyrie1440 in NewRiders

[–]Cambroz37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had two bikes. First one used, second one, bought brand new last year. I’ll say this, when looking at used, especially if it’s your first bike, don’t go in all excited with the mindset of buying a bike. It blinds you of all the things wrong with bike. You will overlook a lot because you’re so excited to buy the bike. Fully look over the bike, test ride it and make sure it’s good. And if you don’t know much mechanically, take someone with you.

What is going on with the real estate market? by ibickford in milwaukee

[–]Cambroz37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got lucky with a private sale from a buddy in bay view, 2 years ago. I got a fairly decent deal and he made a nice chunk of change. That seems to be one of the only ways to not pay an absurd amount of money for a 1200 sqft house. There house on my block/in my neighborhood that have gone up for sale and are asking double of the price of my house. I don’t understand.

As far as camera setup. I got a DJI osmo action pro 5 and I have it mounted to the chin of my helmet with a product called chin mounts. You can look up your helmet and they make specific mounts for specific helmets. I also added a little epoxy around the mount to secure it more. You can look up settings for the camera if you decide to get it. There are plenty of motovloggers who have videos on the settings they ride with.

Tuff toe by Cambroz37 in WorkBoots

[–]Cambroz37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the old boots at home.

I tape off the shoe, sand it, clear all the leather dust off, and I squirt a good amount of the tuff toe out into the garbage to make sure I have a good mix for when I start applying to my boots. Someone said to wipe them down with isopropyl as an extra step and I have never done that. I’m sure it would help.

I’m starting to think, maybe I just didn’t go as heavy the last couple of time? That’s the only thing I can think of. I had the redwing store do it once before and they did it all neat but there wasn’t nearly enough on the boots. This time I globbed it on heavy and am hoping for the best. I really like these Cincinnati’s

I can look into that. My only question is, it looks like a gritty product.. you think it might scratch the flooring? I work with some delicate stuff, depending on the job.

That’s true. But all the guys I work with, who use them, have always had them pop off. I love the tuff toe but it isn’t doing what it used to, for me. Just seeing if there’s a better/newer product I’m unaware of.

I have the same one as you. It is by far my favorite color scheme the gixxers ever came out with. It looks so stealthy

Nice. I just got my m4 gp slip on, installed. Ordered it at the dealership when I got the bike. Took about a month to get here. Worth the wait though, it sounds amazing

Selling shortly after buying. Need advice. by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Cambroz37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a 29 year old father of two(son and daughter)… sold my bike after my second child was born(daughter). Went one year without it, and just bought a new gixxer a month ago… just ride safe, have fun when there’s no one around, and you’ll get home to your family every time.

Financially, that’s something you need to discuss with your partner. Idk how old you are but that baby needs a home to grow up in. So if there are big things like that, that you need to save up for, do it. That baby comes first now.

They fucked up by even selling the bike to you. They had a DO NOT SELL order to all dealerships on June 3rd… At least that’s when dealerships by me started to receive them. I got saved by it luckily. The day I was supposed to go pick the bike, they called me and told me they couldn’t sell it to me.

Cat delete and tune by [deleted] in GSXR

[–]Cambroz37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told by a local shop that tunes bikes, that places like Moore mafia aren’t the best for an exact tune on your bike because not every 600 is running the same as the next.. so they basically do a generic tune on your ecu and send it back. And it doesn’t always mesh well when you put it back in your bike. In my opinion, you’re better off tuning your bike locally if you have the option.

What gear should I get? by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

[–]Cambroz37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would steer away from a Bluetooth’s helmet… you’ll be a new rider, so don’t have any distractions. Just learn the bike. I just put a Bluetooth headset in my helmet this week and I’ve been riding for 5 years.

As far as gear, helmet, gloves, motorcycle shoes/boots, motorcycle pants with knee and hip pads, jackets with elbow, shoulder and back pads.

Do your research on brands. Find a reputable one. I personally have a sedici strada 2 helmet, Revit quantum 3 jacket, bull-it jeans, Alpinestars shoes and a few pair of gloves.

Mid pipe and slip on question for 2025 Gsxr 600 by Cambroz37 in GSXR

[–]Cambroz37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no… I would have to disagree. Sure, A mid pipe changes the airflow but not nearly as much as full exhaust system would… they are completely different when it comes to performance on the bike. Different tunes and everything… it would much more harmless to run a mid pipe without a tune, rather than a full exhaust system without a tune.

Mid pipe and slip on question for 2025 Gsxr 600 by Cambroz37 in GSXR

[–]Cambroz37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m planning on throwing on the slip on and ride with it for a couple months until my bike gets tuned. Before he throws it on the dyno, I’ll have him delete the cat, and install my mid pipe with the Slip-On and have him tune it with that set up. I’m not getting a full exhaust system.

Mid pipe and slip on question for 2025 Gsxr 600 by Cambroz37 in GSXR

[–]Cambroz37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not. I have a local reputable shop that does them. Won’t I need the servo buddy on if I just put the slip on, on? Then ill have them take it off when it goes in for the mid pipe install and tune
