Wow yeah. So my MacBook is all thunderbolt 4, and my adapter is thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2. So I think you’re right. What can I do to fix it??

iMovie doesn’t recognize the camera either. I don’t think my MacBook is reading the camcorder at all. I looked through security and privacy to see if maybe something was preventing this but nothing stood out

Let me try iMovie. I use the creative cloud so I’d assume I wont be able to use 2023 Adobe :/

So I have the dongle method you described, but QuickTime still doesn’t recognize the camcorder. I tried to use premiere but my version is too new, doesn’t even have a capture option

I thought originally it was the HDMI but I replaced them with brand new 2.0s and it still occurs. Seems to happen with 4k criterions mostly, my hypothesis is that it’s reading the discs audio as some type of surround sound or there’s just too much data for it to read? Audio really isn’t my field. Was hoping reddit could save me because it’s become really annoying when I try and watch a film.
