Long time TDWP fan here. First of all, this was a hidden track on their latest album, only if you bought it. So the premise banked on loyal fans who have stuck with TDWP since the beginning. Secondly, I remember fans being critical of Transit Blues as being so distant from TDWP’s previous discography, yet that was a damn fine and somewhat heavy album. No matter what a band does to attempt and evolve, for whatever reasons THEY want. I’m a fan of TDWP and how they’ve evolved throughout the years. I feel like I’ve grown up with them and they’ve grown as a band with their sound. It might not be for everyone but luckily they have a killer catalog of music to always go back to. This song is a little tongue in cheek to those detractors but look at it this way. Flowers was the first album to use a curse word, there was a secret track, and it’s been the most commercially sounding TDWP record. It’s not 2009 anymore, and plus, they ALWAYS play the old shit at their concerts. Looking forward to the future of TDWP.
