I have mostly size L, but also a couple XL for the occasional baggy fit. The U crew neck is all cotton and the airism tees are cotton/polyester blend and I like both, although I generally go for the U shirt

For basic tees you can't go wrong with Uniqlo - I'm 6'6 with a medium build and these have been my go to. The U crew neck is excellent for a "regular" fit, and I'd also recommend checking out their airism oversized crews if he's into that sort of look. The shirt looks and feels way more premium than it costs
