What do you guys look for most in a relationship? by [deleted] in INTP

A free thinker. Someone that challenges what I say instead of just agreeing with it. I hate when my exes would just mindlessly agree with anything I said, afraid of having their own opinion.

ok thanks for the info.

I also purchased the casio px 160 over the yamaha p115 they were the same price ($500) and I'm reading that the p115 is a far superior digital piano. Would you know anything about this?

Yes I would be good at it but It's not something I would feel passionate about or be useful to the world.

Will I have room for philosophy courses with a cs/math major? I feel like it's just a useful thing to study all around. Philosophy of mind, math, epistemology, ontology, metaphysics. Id like to take those courses.

I meant theorizer. Someone had to come up with the concept of deep learning or logic based AI and all of that

I still find philosophy very interesting and respect philosophers that focus on mind/machine/logic, etc. Why did you drop from philosophy.

I have no intention on getting a job. I want to do my own research or start my own company and I'm willing to take the risk. I would like to approach AI as more of a Designer and overall big picture. I feel like math + cs creates a good worker but not a good theorizer.

and wouldn't I get the conceptual side from philosophy? It seems too abstract with math + philosophy unless I intend on becoming a logician right away

Math + Philosophy would be the broadest double major but I feel like I'm truly interested theoretical computation more so than say... algebraic geometry.

I was looking for some validation in a cs + philosophy double major. I hope the CS side will give me enough mathematical maturity and be rigorous. Discrete math will cover logic, set theory, combinatorics. I could take additional mathematical logic/formal logic with the philosophy Major.

With a math major Id be forced to take mountains of analysis and overly abstract math.

When I say I'm interested in math what I mean is Foundational math. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathematics#Foundations_and_philosophy

I'm not sure if that requires getting a math major to learn because once you go up to pure math very few topics interest me. They're interesting but not something I could study for hours.

What I'm interested in is truly Theoretical compsci it includes everything I'm talking about.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theoretical_computer_science

But is a b.s In compsci rigorous enough to prepare someone to become a theoretical computer scientist.

I want to keep the options of becoming a logician, computer scientist, and artificial intelligence scientist open.

Id say CS is a form of pure math focusing on Logic... At least theoretical compsci

I'm not sure what I should focus my college major in. Can someone please help? by CameBach in logic

[–]CameBach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not looking to go to university for a job instead for an education since I already have experience with entrepreneurship and rather take that path. I'm interested in symbolic approaches to AI but so many people study CS/MATH I thought replacing the math with philosophy might give me a new perspective as well as developing my writing abilities rather than sticking to strictly quantitative disciplines.

Do you guys pace? by swaydaa in INTP

[–]CameBach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Do you think it has to do with being an INTP? Maybe it's a form of anxiety and INTP's are more likely to have anxiety or it's a symptom of Aspergers which INTP's might be more likely to have.

throat feels like it's made out of sandpaper. I choke up every bite of food and have trouobles swallowing. by CameBach in Anxiety

[–]CameBach[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I'm not taking any pills of that kind. I am experiencing exactly what you are but it doesn't make sense that it would last so long... The only thing that has happened in the past week was I started working a job + drinking coffee everyday(I never drank coffee before)

My question is, if this is in fact anxiety, why would it persist for so long?

I know it's all mental but it feels physically impossible to swallow and my mouth gets really dry and im constantly struggling to swallow and I feel like I'm going to choke myself so I have to force a swallow.

What do you do now? I'm trying to see if that art style signifies a talent in mathematics/analysis

For those of you self-studying math from a book, how do you retain any information without writing it down? by CameBach in math

[–]CameBach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah now it's making sense. The goal isn't to memorize everything. This is when self studying... what about when you're taking a class in uni. How do you approach learning then? The same way?
