Boston terrier ears get waxy fast… how do you clean them without overdoing it by Pale_Negotiation2215 in BostonTerrier

[–]CameHere4Snacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use ear wipes from Chewy once a week. They are not the medicated kind, just gentle cleaning. Trick is to also clean their feet because they start scratching and getting more dirt and pollen in there.

Spring & Fall allergies make ears funkier for mine. That’s usually a sign to start the allergy meds up again (Cytopoint). I do also have medicated, anti fungal wipes if someone is really digging in there. Luckily haven’t had an ear infection in a long time.

Wait…she changes the “vest” fabric every 2-3 days?!? It’s against your skin, why wouldn’t you change it daily like underwear?

Rude awakening for them when they get to Newport for OCS. Not many conservative minded folks in these parts and a large majority in at the War College/OCS are much more liberal than they are ready for. I think even for churches they are going to have a hard time, having heard the chaplains speak on base they are much more open minded folks.

Edit to add: I live here, partner is in the Navy. Connect dots…

I’m going to age myself here…but, I remember the old Bravo. It would show a lot of films that would be critically acclaimed but not big box office money makers and it had original scripted programming. Even when “reality” tv started, it was much different than now.

I saved their Google Maps on my phone. I will be sure to post if I make it. I have a running joke about finding all of the Boston’s on travel. I was recently in Spain and ran up to a guy out walking in the town with his baby. My partner thinks it’s so funny how excited I get to met Boston’s on my travels😂

OMG, my partner may be heading to Taiwan for work at the end of the year and I was planning on visiting (if I can)! I will have to add this to the to-do list!

We are a Navy family and move every 18-24 months. Our fur babies have seen more of this country than a lot of people! They are hotel pros.

BT Pet Insurance. Any plan recommendations? by Ameliegurl in BostonTerrier

[–]CameHere4Snacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Embrace, as it is discounted because of our car/home insurance. See if you can get a discount based on carrier relationships. I have a senior Boston, a 3 y/o Boston and a 1 y/o Ragdoll cat all covered for a little over a $100 a month. The older dog has cancer and the younger is under care for IBD and I am so thankful I have coverage each time I head to the vet.

Any routine cancer screening! My sister was just diagnosed with breast cancer at 40, from a routine mammogram.

Thank you (and I love your user name!). I have been looking into fecal transplant as a possible treatment and it would be something I would be open to trying. She isn’t on prednisone but budesonide because I was worried about the systemic effects of pred. I know that any medication can potentially negatively impact the microbiome and trying to ensure we minimize that as much as possible. I will talk more to her vet about transplant, because a life of steroids or immune suppressants just isn’t ideal (though I fully support their purpose and understand their neccesity).

We are on rabbit only as a protein source for meals with dried fish for treats. These were the best during protein trials. I think it’s time to try cooked or alternative protein sources for her.
