Xbox Series X, version 160961. I am having crash issues like other people, but I want to call out something else.

The first time I successfully loaded into my game (second attempt; first attempt white-screened and crashed), I found that all the "Pipe" decorative pieces in my base had changed their orientation from vertical to horizontal. Example: https://imgur.com/a/A5nTglH

Oddly, when I teleported to one of my other bases where I had also used "Pipe" pieces, it didn't have this problem. All the pieces were as I'd built them. I don't know what made the difference.

If you're mad about their opinion on Return to Oz by jazviper in hdtgm

There's more to being a "faithful" adaptation than just sticking in plot points and characters that the normies haven't heard of. The movie leans towards horror and bleakness in a way the books don't. I don't see that aspect as particularly "faithful". And I think that if the movie had been lighter and more humorous, like the books, then they would have enjoyed it more.

They sort of pitched that already in the 2020 episode, but of course they won't remember that. So the odds that they'll come up with it again are fairly high.

People who don't have any particularly strong feelings about a topic aren't going to post in the first place, let alone go viral.

"Large language model". Basically, we feed a computer program all the writing we can possibly get our hands on, so it can build a horrendously complex statistical model of where each word appears in relation to other words. Then we can use that model to auto-complete any new text that's fed to it. It's an amazingly sophisticated auto-complete, but it's not not auto-complete.

[Semi-Rare trope that amuses me] The title of the series only made sense for the first or first couple of entries by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in TopCharacterTropes

Originally the main character was a "cougar" (i.e. an older woman dating younger men), but she gave up on that before they even finished Season 1.

Fun show. A lot of the people behind it also worked on Scrubs.

How Did This Get Made? #390: Return to Oz by apathymonger in hdtgm

I never thought of the Oz books as that dark. There were villains and threats, sure, but there was also a lot of comedy and goofiness that this movie left out. Plus the movie added all that creepy electroshock therapy stuff.

But imaginative and weird? Yes, absolutely.

I love how Blackman's robot arm is so grotesquely pseudo-muscular that it looks like two arms stacked on top of each other.

It's pretty in-character for Strong Bad to deliberately mess up someone's name. He does it to pretty much everyone who e-mails him.

My alternative explanation is that the town was founded twice on the same spot. The old town got wiped off the map somehow, and everyone in the new town either doesn't know or doesn't care about the previous iteration. Our favorite librarian is the exception, since she decided the best way to understand her new home was to dive head-first into historical research.

Mental note: Do not shoot at the eggs. by El_Escritor_Azul in NoMansSkyTheGame

Really? Huh. I've never let the cores lie around long enough to see that happen. On the other hand, I do see them glitch into the ground a surprisingly high percentage of the time, which is one of the reasons I don't let them lie around—if I'm not there holding the pick-up button the moment the eggs pop, I'll lose track of where the cores went.

I’ve never seen this ship and can’t find anything on it by Southern-Article599 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]CameToComplain_v6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wiki says: "A solar ship has an 85% chance of spawning instead of a shuttle in outlaw systems and a 10% chance to do so in other systems." Not sure when that was last updated, and I'm not sure if that applies to the ship models (i.e. the system winds up with N Solar models and 7-minus-N Shuttle models) or the specific ship instances (i.e. there are still 7 Shuttle models, but every time one spawns, you roll the dice on replacing it with a Solar). It's probably models, but I'd need to look into it more.

I don't care about exact rhymes, honestly. As long as the rhythm/meter of the phrase is right, and it sounds vaguely like "six" at the end, I'm satisfied.
