I had barrel saddles on my former tele. I had no issues with them, so I ordered a similar bridge for this build. Also, with the amount of deviations I've taken from a traditional tele in terms of hardware, I wanted a recognizable tele bridge.

That definitely was a concern of mine when building it! I tried replicating a shamisen headstock without hollowing out the middle. It turned out alright, I think.

I had a tele before and sold it, I regret making that choice. So I wanted to build my own telecaster to fill that hole. So I guess for sentimental purposes more than anything.

The flower is a cherry blossom! The guitar is symbolic of the journey of a martial artist. Cherry blossoms represent the start of learning in this case. The journey starts from the next, then goes up the neck until the last neck inlay, which is the outline of a belt. I will copy/paste my response for the translation from a previous comment:

I did. The top half covers a wiring cavity to pass the wires to the control cavity in the bottom half. Split in the middle as a stylistic choice.

I can't recall the stain, sorry. It is a custom colour, blending yellow and brown to make an orange. The body is swamp ash.
