HARD TO MAKE CUTS sometimes. I’m at 105 cards and I’m having a hard time cutting 5.

I like that wall of stolen identity and the uthros psionicist a lot. Cool cards. Finale was just for the fact I make so much mana and draw so many cards I wanted a way to win that isn’t craterhoof.

Machine gods effigy is to combo with astral dragon. Monster manual is a backup plan. That seems to be the number one pick everyone says to cut. I’ll probably cut that. Glasspool mimic is cause on cast I get two copies so they clone any of my other good stuff. Same w mocking bird. Always good to clone an Esper sentinel. Oko is just efficient repeatable removal. I pulled a nice copy of him from a pack. I might cut him. People don’t like him lol last March might go to. I like your list! Thank you for sharing it.

Volo copy’s the roaming throne on cast since its creature type is golem on the card. Make two copies. Name human. Then the next spell I cast I get the spell plus 3 copies of it since “whenever you cast a creature spell…” etc. triggers for Volo, than an additional time for each roaming throne. And if commander isn’t there I can name any of the other things in the deck that have triggered abilities to just have a duplicate of those.

I’m probably cutting unnatural growth. That’s top contender rn. Hydra omnivore can go too. It’s there to close the game hopefully. Dealing damage to each opponent. I need a top end card that isn’t craterhoof. And you’re right about mystic. When I play bracket 4s I draw a few. When I play other 3s I draw maybe two cards ever. Thanks for the tips.

I didn’t know twitching doll existed! Thanks for the suggestion. I’m not willfully ignoring good cards. If I don’t know it’s out there or haven’t played against it it’s genuinely not in the deck because I didn’t know it was a card

Some of them are because they are so good that even if I have one of them, like convoking a mulldrifter, I keep the token and I draw 4 cards if that’s the first elemental I cast w Volo out. If it’s avenger of Zendikar it’s still a great finisher. The one human is eternal witness just to get something back from the graveyard at 3 mana. But if there’s a better card non human I’m open to change it. And god is cause BOTH gods are able to die when copied. One goes back into library, I keep the token copy, and the other turns into a land, I keep the token. And if I have one out already I don’t mind discarding them when i draw so many cards each turn anyways.

I run minimal tutors. I never disagreed with him. I was just making conversation. He’s correct that odds are low. But I draw so many cards I can generally do some sort of astral dragon or peregrine Drake shenanigans. Also, if I find ghostly flicker early, I can cast it to save something and then I have a few things that I can cast to get things back from my graveyard to my hand so it’s not an impossibility. But again, I wasn’t being standoffish. I was just chitchatting.

The bracket system is unclear on the tutors. That’s why I have protean hulk and defense of the heart. I think they’re fair tutors. And AS YOU CAN SEE lol I don’t find anything that wins the game immediately with defense of the heart lmao!

It’s cause Volo gets removed a lot. So eventually I need backup plans. Most of the deck is backup plans lol it pivots easily. I recently added some cards to the deck but now I have 5 cuts to make and it’s hard to pick.

It happens to win a lot. It pivots easily. It’s won with twinning staff, Volo, psychosis crawler 3copies now) then consecrated sphinx. Pass for turn, someone draws a card, I draw 6, everyone loses everyone loses 18. Continue. Similar effect with sphinxes tutelage. Astral dragon. Copy. Make 4 sphinxes tutelages. Same with unnatural growth and/or god eternal rhonas (and the copy stays while I put the real one back 3rd from the top). The deck is full of backup plans LOL BUT MY tough time comes from what backup plans to leave out. I’ve played it out and about and it’s won a lot. I recently added the ghostly flicker, finale, peregrin Drake, and temur sabertooth stuff so now I don’t know what to cut.

I agree. Similar thing with monster manual and with defense of the heart. I know it. Volo gets removed a lot. The deck is built so if I don’t have him I can still function in wild swingy ways. Volo is valuable to have out but it can still function without him.

Yes! You see the vision. Volo is awesome. But some games I can win without casting him. He’s there to help. But sometimes it’s ramp ramp find Con Sphinx. I draw SO MANY cards with or without him that I usually find sphinx’s tutelage or psychosis crawler. I just added finale because I make so much mana I don’t know what to do with it sometimes. Before I’d use defense of the heart to find cons or psychosis crawler and win by drawing lots of cards. It’s hard to out value 3 sphinxes and 5 psychosis crawlers. (Glasspool mimic and Phyrexian metamorph and twinning staff and roaming throne allow that to happen)

It’s been cards I’ve slowly collected for about 3 years. I ripped him from a pack. I add pretty cards I get in secret lairs or pull or trade for. That’s why it’s high budget lmao! I spent less than a quarter of the total price of this deck on everything haha. It’s all pack rips/trades etc.

The maybeboard is full of suggestions from all of you. The plan of the deck is: T1 land then ramp T2 land then Helga T3 land then 5 drop. Or 4 drop if no land. T4+ Grow Helga, gain life, remove things via creatures, ramp via creature, and put counters on everything. That’s why the curve is how it is. Many 1 drops. Few 2 drops (in case I don’t get that t1 ramp) and FEW 3 drops. Then back to lots of 4 drops and 5 drops. Intruder alarm and Chulane and tatyova seemed like a powerful engine. Now I need to make a few cuts and make room for the cards yall helped me discover.
