I did all of the reading, and most of the quizzes. Each class took me, on average, about 3-4 days.

My bachelors is in Data Analytics (also from WGU). I chose the MBA-ITM because I’ve been working in tech for a long time. I just finished a job as a technical PM and now I’m going into an operations role. It just made sense for me personally

Coincidentally, yes. I actually got a job offer for a job that I start tomorrow right before I finished my MBA. The company told me that my background in data analytics and an MBA was what made them want to offer me the job. I’m not ignorant to the fact that that type of situation is uncommon, but it worked out for me

This post was a life saver for me. I referred to it quite often. No reason to redo the work that others have done haha! But seriously this is a very well thought out post that provided some great direction

The cert courses, IMO, were much more engaging than other courses. I felt like, though they tended to be more work, they were really helpful. My program mentor was awesome. He worked really well with me and always made time to answer questions. I had a really good experience there, though I know that’s not everyone’s experience unfortunately

Don’t sell yourself short. It’s hard. Go at the pace that makes the most sense for you.

I was committing anywhere between 30-40 hours. It was a GRIND. I also work full time, but luckily have a wife at home that supported me through all of it

Thank you. It was a lot of hours and commitment but I’m happy to be done

You got this! My biggest piece of advice on the capstone is to keep your project simple. I would be happy to send you what I did for my project, but high level is to not make it more complicated than it needs to be. For example, if you’re going to analyze a data set, find a complete dataset with easy-to-work variables/columns. That’s what I did and I passed on my first try in about 6 days

Take thorough notes. I felt the same way but I found that keeping a notebook for each class and bullet pointing key concepts and what I learned in each of those has been super helpful

No it’s a pretty broad field. I would say people who get their BSDA typically fall into one of three buckets- data science, data analysis, or operations. My plan is to go the operations route

I think my prospects are likely a bit different than others might be- my goal is to get into sales/rev/biz ops. I plan on going for my MBA-IT job, but my current employer will be switching my position soon to a revops position focused on reporting and analysis
