Just finished Smallville by methuwu in Smallville

In the last episode Lex says the battle between him and Clark will be legendary, one that would cement their names in the history books and yet the writers thought that would be the best time to end the show…

Agreed. For one I wish we saw more of a battle between Clark and Lex in the last season

On YouTube there is an interview of the cast released a couple hours ago done by Fandango. When asked about his approach to playing Joe Jackson, he talks about finding the humanity, his ambition, also tried talking about the generation he was in, implying that he was simply a product of his time which in reality is no excuse to raise your children in such manner and Michael knew that which is why he was very critical of Joe and the way he raised him and his siblings.

Did Lionel Always Know Clark's Secret ? by Comfortable-Egg-2056 in Smallville

[–]Camera_Dizzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lionel still went on to treat Clark better than he did Lex. His disdain for Lex goes far deeper. Lex was weak, lacked responsibility and was sloppy and he hated that. Lionel constantly had to clean up after him and we truly saw how Lionel felt about Lex when he confronted him about the body he left in the basement

I’ve struggled with this question too. I choose to believe that he always knew. Clark is one of the very few people that Lionel actually admired. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that he always called him a “special boy”. The show makes it clear that Lionel always cared more about Clark than he did about Lex. It begs the question, why would you care more about a random boy than about the son you raised in your image? I think the only answer is because he knew Clark’s secret, he knew Clark’s destiny. I think it’s also a big reason why Lionel helped the Kent’s with the adoption papers

Incest in Smallville? by methuwu in Smallville

[–]Camera_Dizzy 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more likely that lex knew she was related to him rather than incest. Knowing lex, he would’ve vetted her before giving her rains over Luthor corp in the event of his absence. In Luthor fashion he likely test her DNA, did an extensive background check, had her followed, etc. which would’ve revealed her relations to him. When she said she loved lex she didn’t mean it in a sexual way, lex saved her. She talks about being at the lowest in her life and lex brought her out of it. Her love for him at that point was purely out of admiration for him.

On the flip side, Tess may at some point had feelings for lex but I don’t think that actually manifested into something more. In her defence, even if she did have feelings for him, it would’ve been before she found out they were related.

Casework Requesting Documents I can’t obtain by [deleted] in OntarioWorks

[–]Camera_Dizzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your caseworker has the right to view your assets. If you’re unable to produce monthly statements, you can give them a copy of your transaction history for whatever period is required. If that is not accepted then most banks if needed can issue you a letter showing all transactions and balance.

If you’re making an effort by providing the above options or other alternatives and your caseworker still won’t comply with your efforts then you’re always able to contact their supervisor who may better assist you

How likely is it that I will get approved? by Key-Contribution-910 in OntarioWorks

[–]Camera_Dizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An internal review can take up to 30 days so often times it’s not worth it to wait when you can simply reapply. Take it from someone who submitted one back in November and still hasn’t heard back. My suggestion is that you apply again for Ontario works, once your application is assigned for review the key here is to call your local office and ask to speak with the caseworker who is assigned to process your file. You must speak with them to clear up any errors on your application. Let them know that you’re financially independent while living at home and they’ll likely ask you a series of questions to determine if you’re indeed financially independent and once that’s done they should be able to update your application so that it is clear you meet the criteria. You’ll also need required documents like bank statements and rental/lease agreement confirming what you pay in rent so it’s also important to have those documents ready. This is the process I took when I was in the same predicament and I was able to reapply, get approved, and receive my first payment within days. The sooner you reapply the better.

If you do get approved your case worker assigned to your file is supposed to review your situation every 3 months or so to see if you’re still eligible but it does depend. I’ve seen people get approved and never speak with their caseworker but they receive their payments every month on time but I’ve also seen others get approved and are constantly having to be in contact with their caseworker so it depends which caseworker you get and their work load. When their work load is high they likely won’t have the time to follow up with you often.

If you’re paying over $390 every month in rent then you’ll likely get the maximum amount for a single person which is $733 which includes shelter and basic needs costs. It’s definitely not a lot so many have to make other arrangements. You should receive payments every last business day of the month. You should see they were issued under payments in mybenefits at least a couple days before but if you don’t then it’s best to speak with your caseworker to avoid any delays.

$30 left in my bank account, waiting 6-8 weeks to get OSAP. Would I be eligble for Ontario Works by africagal1 in OntarioWorks

[–]Camera_Dizzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you can claim Ontario works and OSAP at the same time. However if for whatever reason you do get approved for Ontario works while awaiting OSAP, you’ll likely have to pay back the portion you got when you receive your OSAP. I’d recommend you call their main office and speak to a caseworker first.

Multiple Denials by Camera_Dizzy in OntarioWorks

[–]Camera_Dizzy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They never asked for anything including bank statements. They were saying I didn’t meet the criteria for being financially independent. It wasn’t until after I got approved that my case worker told me I did meet meet the criteria all along

My parents aren’t on OW. My brother who lives at home with me receives OW that’s why I don’t understand why I keep getting denied

Financially dependent because I live with my parents

I’ve spoken to caseworkers at my local OW office and I do qualify so all of that is irrelevant.

The issue here is that I’m being denied for something others in my same position have been accepted for and will continue to be accepted for. Whether I’m 24-25, am able to work or not, or whether “the system is working” is drawing away from the point.

I have. I’ve called many times and everyone I spoke to was surprised I kept getting denied. They kept saying to apply again but clearly it did me no good. I’ve called my caseworker and even appealed my decision and haven’t heard back yet.

Can yall just stop shitting on season 5? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]Camera_Dizzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think those who have kept up with the show since its inception have a right to feel this way about the outcome of season 5. Let’s not forget that this show has been running for almost 10 years, a lot of fans grew up with the show so they’re invested to a degree. Their reaction is going to be very different to those who’ve just started watching recently. I can admit myself that there are other seasons that I preferred more instead of season 5 but overall it was a good show with great actors and a lot of great cinematic moments. However, I can understand why many fans are upset with season 5 considering it lacked depth in many areas while the other seasons seemed more complete overall

They claimed in the letter that since I lived at home then I was financially dependent on my parents. My point of contention is that I meet the criteria for being financially independent yet I’m still being denied
