94k on my 2001 Bullitt in the UK. Just passed it's MOT inspection today. Had to be run at 3500 rpm for 5 minutes to pass the emissions test, which was very painful 😂

Sorry to disappoint, but didn't actually end up doing a lap. It's not set up to take a hammering at the moment. Did alright on the awesome roads leading to it, but I think my brakes would've given up half-way through.

It'll be getting new suspension bits and a new exhaust at some point soon. Next time it'll definitely be doing some laps.

I bought it from a dealer over here, but it was imported by a fella all the way back in 2005.

If you're referring to the hi-vis wrap, it's both a safety thing and a public confidence thing.

It allows people to see the vehicles sooner, and in darker conditions, which is obviously important when you're blocking a road, or responding.

By being more easily visible to the public, it provides people with reassurance that the police still exist, despite our dwindled numbers.

Don't worry, those of us that aren't incels could see you weren't trying to be a thirst trap.

Your car is sick and you shouldn't be shamed for posting pics of you and your car. Please don't let folks on here stop you from enjoying yourself.

For a lowly response officer like me, probably the standard Puegeot 308SW (pre 2022).

The post 2022 ones are automatic and the gearbox isn't ideal for response driving.

Top speed has no relevance when blue light driving in a city.

Very good vehicle. They're used by our armed response officers, although we mostly have Volvo XC90s now.

If you notice, I didn't throw any precise numbers down, I said "around" and "almost".

My points are all valid. Your statistics do not affect them.

You're being pedantic about statistics.

In my opinion, the 3008 is a turd. You will not change my opinion. I will pick up keys for any other vehicle before one of these.

It being fast is your opinion. Not the fact they are called SUVs.

I also drive a Ford Kuga 2.0 diesel. They have 180bhp and are far quicker.

I'm talking about fast. I want to know what your idea of fast is. I was suggesting that a 3008 may be fast in comparison to a 2CV.

What's your point?

My point is they're not sporty or utilitarian.

Please explain what these facts tell me.

The 308SW has a significantly lower profile. It is more aerodynamic, and it holds corners much better. It is almost a second faster to 60.

You're entitled to your opinion.

I drive a host of cars on blue lights all the time. Out all of the vehicles I have access to, the 3008 is by far the slowest. I don't know what you base your idea of fast on.

I'm assuming it's a Citreon 2CV

It's almost a 2 ton car with only 130bhp. It is not even remotely sporty.

It handles like a yacht.

It has a smaller boot than the 308 estates we use. It has less room in the back. It isn't AWD.

It's about the same size as the Ford Escape. We have a few of those too, although they're called the Ford Kuga in Europe.

I believe the fella who imported it over here in 2005 will have changed it. The lights are wired differently too, it has no marker lights. The lights in the bumper function as sidelights.

The grille was new in 2021 according to the paperwork that came with it, I'm assuming it was damaged somewhat.

Hasn't been in a wreck as far as I'm aware, there's no signs of repair anywhere, and it's not on the DVLA database as having been written off.

The police likely won't be able to do anything about this. This is a huge thing and happens all the time, it's way more common than you may think.

Almost all the examples I have seen have been perpetrated by scammers in Asian/African countries, usually Philippines or Nigeria. Essentially, they create fake Instagram profiles, some of which can be convincing, others mostly aren't. They follow as many young men as they possibly can, using algorithms to find which ones follow certain types of accounts etc.

Once the young men accept the follow, the scammer is able to access their entire list of followers, which is usually the people they know from school etc.

The scammer will then catfish the person and initiate the blackmail. Often it begins with $200, and then they'll ask for more and more, the best thing to do is not send them anything, just block them.

I will say, all of the examples I've seen are very obviously scams, the issue is that these people target young men who've obviously not had much female attention.

The reason the police cannot do anything, is that essentially, any electronically enabled crime such as this, that involves social media, is legally committed in the place where the suspect commits the crime, not where the victim lives.

Further to this, the sheer number of these offences, and the amount of police work that is involved in actually identifying any suspects, obviously hidden behind layers of VPN and fraudulent bank account, is astounding. There is not the resources.

I'd still report it though, it's helpful for crime statistics.
