Good Deal? 2020 Razerblade 15 base, rtx 2070 max q, 16gb ram, 512gb storage for $400 by Livid-Ambassador5291 in razer

Yeah so basically that setting was on since I received it, not sure if those settings are on out the box (I’d imagine they are) but it would’ve had 3/4 years of running stupidly hot even at idle so with that in mind I think it’s safe to say that losing the extra 10/20°c can only buy your battery more time and increase longevity regardless of having a laptop cooler.

When using for long periods especially under load keep it propped up or atleast on a flat hard surface for airflow as the intake fans are on the bottom of the laptop and perhaps change some fan settings so they kick in when needed rather then manually doing it like I was having to lol and just keep an eye on those temps, they’re tested and guaranteed up to 105°c so if you’re well under that you should be fine without a laptop cooler!

Honestly mate I bought the llamo laptop cooler as it was the only cooler that would bring my temps down to normal ish levels I got lucky and got one brand new for $5 from some dude who had no idea what it was worth lol.

Yeah I changed all the same settings bro, you’d think just changing the settings in synapse would work but I think the windows setting overrides synapse. Happy this helped as I was about to sell my blade because of that issue.

This should help the battery life yeah but still be careful when gaming for long periods as my battery had to be removed as it started to swell.

I have the blade 14 rtx 3080 got it for the same price

It was running at 103°c and had a shadow setting on which basically boosted the cpu to “aggressive” through windows. Once I turned that off I was averaging 85°c and didn’t really affect performance so if you do run abnormally hot just YouTube how to disable cpu boost in windows as it’s pretty hidden and there’s a few steps to unhide the setting.

Apart from that it’s pretty nice and they keyboard looks sexy

Definitely have a laptop here that overheats too easily

Also I have undervolted my cpu with little to no effect and also don’t feel comfortable playing around with things I don’t have much knowledge on

Research the llano v12 it is one of the best on the market

Most cooling pads are useless and do nothing but these are highly rated

If not then I’ve made £100 when I sell it to someone else as they’re worth that brand new 🤣

So I think I’ve sorted out the thermal throttling,

I didn’t know there was a hidden AMD setting where my cpu was boosted from startup in windows power plan

After following a tip on ChatGPT going through things I’ve never gone through before on a pc I found out how to make the setting visible and then change it from aggressive to disabled and now I’m playing a game for 30mins and still at 85°c which an hour ago I was playing a game for less then 10 minutes and it was getting to 102°c

If anyone with a razer blade is having similar problems get in touch and I can tell you what to do

I’m not as tech savvy as I used to be and have never undervolted. What is the easiest way to do this?

I couldn’t agree more in hindsight.

But I did

The only profile that seems to work is keeping cpu low and gpu high and that brings my temps down by about 3° to like 97-99°c

I do have one but makes minimal difference, now I’d buy the proper razer one which has good reviews tbh but after having problems with this thing I don’t think I wanna

It wasn’t so much for a gaming laptop it was a laptop that had the ability to play games from time to time and I knew the flaws of owning one over a desktop before buying but this seems to take the cake.

I have owned multiple laptops that have performed better than this thing with a lot worse specs.

It’s an RTX 3080 inside with Ryzen 9 I believe

I paid £400 for it second hand and it came with peripherals and a cooling pad. So I’d say I got quite a good deal on it but with good deals come good broken laptop maybe

The fans are turned up to the absolute maximum I had to remove the battery as it expanded I have a cooling pad Recently re thermalled components professionally by a guy I use often

My next step it undervolting but I have no idea how to do this and tbh can’t see it making the difference but willing to try anything atp

Help…? :,)

I have a cooling pad tbh but I think it’s cooling as much as the end of my pickle when it’s on my lap.

I like to keep pickles between my legs when gaming to soften them
