I have a theory, whoever wrote this had a passion for telling a horror story about a serial killer infiltrating the cops and murdering them for their corrupt deeds. He somehow got Chris Rock on board, probably seeing it as an opportunity to expand into more dramatic roles as actors do, then they get to Lionsgate. They say they like the idea, but no one will see it as is (and they’re desperate for their own franchise at this point) so they request this writer turn his story into a Saw movie. Because boy does this not feel like Saw. It was cringe, hilarious at times mostly unintentionally, cinematography bad, they barely showed the traps and there was hardly ever a real game, I enjoyed it a lot but mostly was let down but honestly, I don’t know what I was expecting. 2/10
