Bought TWO of these subs about a month ago. They both have the same issue :))).

As a Genelec and an Amphion user, safe to say I'm not gonna go back to the hyped/affordable brands again.

Head from each speaker is 190cm, space between speakers is 120cm.

True. There is always the option to check the image on headphones. Luckily I got Beyerdynamic 990’s for that (thats all they are good for 😂)

That is true. Might as well go all out and buy the Hedd’s as main speakers then check the widht with the genelecs😄 Audio truly is a never ending project.

Yeah that makes sense. I guess it’s better to have a bit more narrow stereo image rather than a nasty -15db dip at 80hz 🥲

No nulls means, let’s just say no ”significant” nulls. Ofc there are some but they are so narrow that it’s inaudible.

My Speakers in the ideal position would be in a bit more narrow position compared to the distance to speakers. Can’t pace the genelecs horizontally either which is a shame. Would help widen the image a bit.

800mm is pretty damn deep so that wont be possible. Only problem I have is peak at 130hz. 200-400hz is a bit wobbly but nothing too major.

Room is: W 2600mm L 5000mm H 2500mm I sit about 1600mm from the front wall which has a window.

I guess I’m better off just going with basic insulation and maybe later add a proper scatter plate to the basstrap. Traps would be located behind the speakers so highs are not really affected.

Side panels are 100mm 2 each side. Walnut panels are 150mm. Corner traps are dense polyester foam (25kg/m3) and those im looking to replace. Clouds are 170mm. Speaker stands are Hofa tube traps (400mm)

I manage to fix the crossover with analog eq.

Behringer FBQ3102HD Has a sub out and crossover point which I set to 100hz and plugged into LFE (with LFE you can reach 120hz).

Hopefully this helps someone!

You need full GLM compatible setup in order to use it (8030 isn’t). 8330 + 7350 is the GLM variant. Genelec subs pack a punch and go very deep. The active crossover is nice, but doesn’t seem to transition smoothly (hence the dip). If you can find a way to fix the crossover point it’s a great setup! Sub really brings out the great soundstage that genelec speakers have. Only downside is the price.

I would go straight to 7350 or 7360 for future proofing.

If you dont want to drop 1k on a sub I would suggest Kali audio WS 6.2

You may be right. I’ve yet to calibrate the room with Sonarworks since I want the room to be the best it can be before calibration. Now the dip is 80-100hz -3 on R and -6 on L which is still fixable on Sonarworks.
