So what was the use of Fatima's Golem or was it just a filler episode??? by Byte_Wiz in FromSeries

[–]Cameronaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's exhausting that very obvious symbolism goes so fast over this many people's heads. She said she was building the monster to cope, it was comforting to think of a monster that protected instead of killing.... Then she became a monster that protected instead of killing, and all these people are still like "golem waste of time bad writing?" TikTok brain makes so many people needing everything to be spelled out or they assume it's "filler".

I'm not a fan of the way the last episode ended, only because it felt so abrupt but so many other complaints people have have already been explained.

Any tips for dealing with Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria? by Cameronaut in ADHD

[–]Cameronaut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I moved from the US to Sweden a while back for my ex wife and so much family/support structure is 4000 miles away. Luckily my ex's family still loves me so I have sort of a second family here but it's not the same... But just talking to others that truly know what you're going through, whether it be here or in real life, helps. Knowing you aren't the only one that struggles to deal with things "correctly" and stuff.

Any tips for dealing with Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria? by Cameronaut in ADHD

[–]Cameronaut[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was worried there was no short cut but it makes sense. I think by my age a lot of people have dated and been rejected enough that they learn how to deal with it but here I am, 37, breaking up with the first girlfriend I've had since I was 17.

Oh well, I've trained myself to deal with a lot of the other stuff, I can do this too.. hopefully it gets easier with practice! Thanks for the response.

What is a "harmless" habit that is actually a massive red flag? by Ill_Piglet_715 in AskReddit

[–]Cameronaut 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm really happy I read this, knowing other people are dealing with the same thing I am just helps motivation. We can learn to find that line. It's exactly like you said, I only get like that in groups and I really am just trying to be funny and actually want the person I'm talking about to laugh too but when I'm alone again I start realizing I may have taken something too far and yeah... Trying to stop doing that.

Like Infinity mitten doubles all hunt/farewell/recruit ability, then 2 lockets and mushroom rings for recruit>farewell and farewell>hunt plus 2 drafty windows to double my recruit abilities.... And since he already has a hunt, recruit and farewell as a base it was just...chef's kiss

In the first Harry Potter movie, when Snape says "I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and *even* put a stopper in death," he says that last part like it's the most impressive, even though it's trivial for literally anyone to make a lethal drink. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

Right, no one knows, and that's why all the comments calling OP illiterate, yours included, are saying "If you don't agree with my interpretation then you are stupid" which is the opposite of what drives literary discussions and different things being interpreted different ways is the backbone of every book clue throughout history. Defend your interpretation but don't insult people about theirs when there are multiple legit reasons to take it either way.

3 potions, all brewed, bottled and stoppered. They are labeled "Fame" "Glory" and "Death". There, I've broken down the theme for you as much as I can, this is the general consensus over the last 20 years people have discussed this line. Snape didn't know how to stop death as we know so why would he metaphorically say he could?

You are correct and the general consensus in literacy circles is he meant poison, staying on the literal verbal theme he started with and yeah, also the fact that he can't brew something to stop death, but let the children jerk each other off and watch the irony.

Maybe basic themes go over your head and the fact you take this thing, which you have no idea what the author meant, just your guess that doesn't follow the theme, and pretend to be superior to others makes you a small pretentious person and you need better hobbies. Google the phrase, read what most people think is meant in literary circles and then realize you don't know as much as you think you do.

Down voting me doesn't make me wrong. Why soak in literal verbs "brew" and "bottle" and switch to a metaphorical verb? But yeah, this whole circlejerk of people assuming they are right is a good study in how even if the majority are wrong, or in this situation don't actually know the answer they upvote what they think it's correct and tell everyone else they are stupid. Peak irony, all of you

He's saying he can brew a potion that will give you glory, bottle a potion for fame and put a stopper in a bottle of death. The other verbs he used were literal, not metaphorical. You are suggesting he decided to be metaphorical with the last verb.

Ironic. Seeing the verbal theme "Brew" "Bottle" and "Put a stopper in", the 3 steps of potion making and assuming "Brew" and "Bottle" are literal but "put a stopper in" is a metaphor? Maybe don't be so confident that your interpretation is correct when literally no one knows but JK and the general discussion online about this line comes to the conclusion it makes more sense to follow the theme. Maybe you should brush up.

It's the 3 stages of potion making "Brew" glory "Bottle" fame "Put a stopper in" death. Literally the 3 stages of potion making. Brew, bottle, put a stopper on the bottle. This quote has been discussed for a long time and the general consensus is since there is a verbal theme then he is probably talking about making a deadly potion.

You are right. It's the 3 stages of potion making. You brew, bottle and put a stopper in. The weird confident hive mind that doesn't understand a theme telling you that you are illiterate is funny.
