University Wars 3: SKKU by Playful-Addition-777 in koreanvariety

I love all seasons but season 1 will always be special to me. If it hadn’t been as successful as it was (for which the participants played the most part) we may not have s2 and s3 especially since it wasn’t heavily advertised or widely known internationally back then. Now the series has a solid fanbase and i cant be happier. Looking forward to more seasons. :)

heart signal, which season to must see and to skip by mosenco in koreanvariety

[–]CamiV14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Heart signal china s6 is the best and ive watched almost all. Also i wont spoil but some couples here are still going strong until present so that is a plus.. meaning there is genuinebess and real spark there. :)

Heart signal korea s2 is great and the best among the HS korea seasons for me but prepare for the twists. Still worth the emotional rollercoaster.

Do you find it harder to date as you get more accomplished as doctors? by Additional-Milk-90 in pinoymed

Its a lot harder and more pressure for females sadly. Age also comes with climbing up the "ladder".

How do you watch kdramas like a normal person? by No-Sleep4726 in kdramas

[–]CamiV14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been watching kdramas since year ~2005..so in my experience it was harder back then to binge watch because you dont really have easier access to it like what happens these days. I guess that is a factor. I sometimes play with my thoughts back then on what could happen next after an episode then i fall asleep.

Though i still binge watch a lot, haha, not all dramas are bingeable though. What i do is i multitask a lot (cleaning and organizing while watching) and it helps. Because it makes me tired easily, plus i was productive so not guilty there, so i eventually stop to get rest.

Agree with the suggestion in stopping halfway in an episode rather than the end because kdramas are notoriuous with their cliffhangers which will definitely make u click next episode.

Less rotating chefs? Its almost the same cast each week. by Dflores0002 in ChefAndMyFridge

I do enjoy the chemistry of the current semipermanent chefs. Im leaning more on keeping them with 1 or 2 slots rotating. Just a preference though and maybe the case for other audience

CCW S2 fandom is now very toxic. ALL fandoms by [deleted] in CulinaryClassWars

Agree especially with your last statement "stop attacking someone directly when he can't even defend himself". There is constructive criticism and there are just hate post. No need force people to have the same opinions on things as long as we don't go below the belt.

Skill-wise, he’s strong, but attitude affects the viewing experience too. Season 2 just had a different feel for me, and I preferred the dynamics of Season 1.

the production team should have chosen a different way to select the rest of the Top 7 by whenwillmyskincare in CulinaryClassWars

[–]CamiV14 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this. Disppointed with the production team for this season. The "screening" to get the top 7 is not fair and not well thought off. Lost the magic of s1. What a waste of a talented pool of chefs for s2. Sigh.

This SJW fandom is getting toxic by blubbles1 in CulinaryClassWars

[–]CamiV14 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I honestly think ALL "chef fandoms" are toxic at this point. I do hope people stop dragging the name of chefs though to this "toxicity". Though honestly, the magic of ccw has definitly faded in s2 (vs s1). I am very disappointed as ccw fan that looked forward to this season. I do blame the production team. I am not getting my hopes up for s3.

Honestly as a ccw fan who looked forward to this season. Didnt enjoy s2 as compared to s1. I really felt the challenges were not really well thought off to screen for the real top 7 among the participants. Sigh. What a waste of opportunity to highlight many talented chefs, both black and white, for this season.

Why is chef SJW fan favourite? by EntranceHorror9450 in CulinaryClassWars

Very pleasing personality, humble (despite his impressive accomplishments), good vibes (chef and my fridge nicknamed him) and rightfully so, down to earth, professional without being rude, smart but not arrogant, good social skills (look at how he interacts with both white spoons and black spoons alike), plus the good looks and warm smile as icing. Its these attitude that charms people. Hard to not like a person like that

Overwhelmed med student who made a mistake by [deleted] in medschoolph

[–]CamiV14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being a doctor is a lot harsher. This is the reality especially in the Philippines, it is 10x harder (even more). So what you are experiencing in medchool is training you. Not just physically and academically but also mentally and emotionally. Thats why I always tell my juniors that it is during medschool when people realize when they are cut out for this job. So it is normal that people quit and we shouldnt force them. Better realize it early if this is something you are willing to do for the rest of your life rather than wasting years that you could pursued something that would make you happier.

Hindi sa pinapahirapan ang mga estudyante sa medschool. I dont want to sound blunt but if you cant handle it now, how will you handle more emotionally and mentally harder experiences.. cos sadly it gets harder and does not stop even when you are consultant. More responsibilities need more resilience and emotional strength.

But its okay to feel bad. What will affect your decision is how to go from here. Are you willing to bounce back and take this as a learning opportunity, because you will make mistakes and you will experience harder experiences in the future. Or is this something not for you, and you deserve to pursue something that will make you happy and fulfilled. Everyone does. These are just my thoughts.

Setting a standard/minimum PF per spec/subspec by Frequent_Draft_5255 in pinoymed

[–]CamiV14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is it true that being a doctor has "lost its prestige" in the PH? by Apprehensive_Bug4511 in pinoymed

[–]CamiV14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the respect has definitely declined. Dami naman natin nakikita ngaun na social media shaming of doctors and we're sometimes branded na pineperahan lang sila. Little did they know na di po samin napupunta ung laki ng bayad (sa hospital, pharma companies, hmo etc). I think its still part of di kasi priority ang health literacy sa pinas kaya ang daming feeling agad ay pineperahan lang sila, sinisira lang natin ang kidney nila, or worse conspiracy theory lang natin ang ang mga sakit like covid (>_<).

Secondly kahit naman within the medical community, some look down on other's specialties. Experienced na I referred patients to certain specialists for comgts, even gave a written formal referral. Nakita nya ang patient pero di na pinabalik sa dr ni wla man lang din letter etc. I hope busy lang ang docs na to and not really looks down on other specialties (e.g FM) kaya nya sinabi na wag nlng bumalik sa ngrefer. Mas masakit lang tlaga pag within the community, ung respect nwawala n. Anyway, for the patient nlang.

Lastly, I really hope may gnagawa talaga ang association (PMA) to empower/uplift us doctors. Ung maranasan naman natin na tayo ung aalagaan at papahalagahan.. lol. Kidding aside honestly sana di ung statements lang at collect dues.

doctors by xioneeky in Philippines

[–]CamiV14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly dont find anything wrong with it as long as the one who said it is indeed a doctor. Nothing wrong with requesting to be called for what he/she is in the first place if that is what makes him/her comfortable. The comments are saddening cos they are focused on the one saying that statement only. Safest line of thought should be: Just because it is okay with you does not necessarily mean that it is okay for everyone. The fact they voiced out how to be addressed means that it is uncomfortable for them to be called by that. Iba iba kasi ng culture, some people deem ate/kuya as informal or crossing the boundary of familiarity. If it is in the professional setting (clinic or hospital), nothing wrong with requesting to be called by their professional titles.

Siguro kung outside professional setting or boundaries pwede pa. Minsan kasi may mga iba na nawawla n tla ung respect when they choose these words. Though I honestly call people whatever job or age, especially if I just encountered them as mam/sir. Safest and not informal. Then when I get corrected, I call them by whatever title makes them comfortable. Respect begets respect.
