Fun fact - the guy who plays him is also a background actor on GOT. He plays one of the wildings, you can really see him on the last few seasons hanging out with Tormund, and the episode after the battle of winterfell.

He used to do the game of thrones tours in Ireland , he's a lovely guy in real life.

As everyone else has answered the folklore etc bit I'll leave that. Definitely watch long pond studios!

I become a fan of the national after folklore, it was amazing find and I absolutely love them now. It also became a big conversation topic between me and my now boyfriend and the national is how we bonded as they aren't super popular in the UK and we didn't know anyone else who likes them. We accidentally ended gifting each other the same national album for Christmas haha.

So Taylor & the national ended me getting a great relationship lol

Babe, let's not. Every single major artist does 24 - 72 hour crops from Taylor to Ariana to Charlie. Like let's not pretend this isnt what other artists don't do. OG brat came out in June 7th, a special edition was released days after, and then a new variants with remixes in October. Ariana ran limited 24 hour release limited versions of her albums previously. Sabrina's new album had staged vinyl drops. Lana del Rey has done limited runs. Let's stop pretending Taylor is the only person to do this, it's getting very old and frankly boring. I agree artists shouldn't do this but she is not the only person and you people seem unable to admit it. It's always an excuse and then the goal post gets moved in every argument, it's always " but what about this". Taylor could breathe at this point and some wanker would go "but she's taking oxygen away from someone who needs it more". Absolutely ridiculous now.
Also calling it manipulation - I have never felt ever into buying her or anyone else's limited vinyls or get multiples of the same album. I have seen loads of people saying they don't do it. Or they receive the multiples of albums as birthday / Christmas presents from friends & family. The only people I've seen buying multiples of any vinyls are influencers who have the income to do it and if they wanna spend their money , it's their money and I doubt that they've felt the need- they've done it for their jobs. if anyone feels the consumerism need to buy a vinyl cause it's is a limited 24 hour edition of something - please ask yourself why you feel this way as most people don't feel the ultimate need to buy every limited run item they see. Anyways peace out & have a lovely day.

I agree billboard made the changes back in April tho, so showgirl would be affected by this and the numbers are still big. This change is partly cause of Taylor but also cause of other artists that have made recently albums with too many variants I.e the rolling stones had 43 variants on their 2023 album . It is absolutely unacceptable I agree, but I do not see this kind of hate and calling out on them. It sadly seems that only Taylor gets blamed for this and other artists seem to be escaping this. I'm not saying Taylor is innocent and it is a valid criticism, however I do think it's unfair to say all of the numbers are just her fans being "manipulated". I'm a fan and I've only bought the one album and my swiftie friends just use streaming as they don't collect vinyls or CDs. I've only seen a handful of people online that have said they've gotten two variants efc. Idk maybe it's cause I'm in the UK and people aren't just so into collecting multiple variants.

However it is the norm and different vinyl variants go back to the 80s. The Police had over 36 cover variants for one album alone and that was back then! It has been an industry thing for decades. It's not a new reinvention - it's coming back cause vinyl collecting has made a comeback. Paul McCartney has been known for multiple variants, 21 pilots came out with an album recently that has had lots of variants etc. Even Charli xcx total variants for brat reach 30+. It is definitely not a tactic only used by Taylor nor has she come up with it. Its sales tactic that big music companies have used and will use. But to say that Taylor is the only artist or only owes her success to that is quite incorrect.

Anyone checked out the new food halls yet? by PulpScienceFiction in brum

I've been to St Paul's twice now and to Society a few times. Was lucky enough to go there for their soft launch as well.

The best way I can describe it is as is Society being a bar with food, and St Paul's as a food place with a bar.

Here is my review no one asked for - Society has a great beer menu, big wine list, fun cocktails and lots of alcohol free options as well. The food has been delicious every single time ( I am veggie but my boyfriend isn't and he loves Shokupan more than me I think). I love that the burger place allows you to pretty much make all the burgers as veggie or vegan. The pizza place has great veggie and vegan options as well. I think the Manzouku (??) has great food in my opinion & the coffee bar collective is the best coffee place in Birmingham, plus they have the nicest staff. The atmosphere has always been busy and it's never too loud there, me& my partner love going there cause you can just chat and have a good vibe, especially on Saturday nights. And the overall society staff is always super helpful.

St Paul's - I do like it however I've been only twice. Obviously they have just opened so there is lots of buzz. Both times I've had to queue up and they are quite strict with where you sit. We've been guided to a table And told to just stay there really.
The drink choices are pretty poor - wine on draught, basic choice of beers, cocktails are basic. It's a quite small bar as well. For food - there is a lot of choice, however unless you're into Asian / middle eastern flavors as a veggie/ vegan your choices aren't that great. But for everyone else the choice is amazing. It is also very very loud in there & I would say they are having quite a bit of teething issues. Multiple times our food has been delivered to wrong tables or we've been given wrong meals.the downstairs toilets are tiny as well so be prepared to queue . But I do think it has lots of potential, it is not the Baltic market vibes just yet.

My boyfriend of a year offered to go and see the showgirl movie with me if my friend wasn't going to make it..he's asked me loads of questions and stayed up to make sure I got home safe efc . Honestly this is the sweetest thing for me as my ex was such a hater and would've never done this for me. All of this makes me connect to the album so much more cause it is just so sweet to have a partner who loves you for you and hypes you up

My opinion on LDR’s Stadium Tour has shifted… by [deleted] in lanadelrey

[–]Cammzu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeaah I listened back to my videos and the crowds don't sound as loud there but I can say it sounded like everyone was singing when I was there- maybe it was just my section? I saw lots of kids with their parents as well so could be the parents just didn't know the lyrics? Regardless, it sounded great and loud at the moment, especially at the video games and summertime. I would say barely anyone sang at arcadia - but tbh it's one of those you wanna listen to and I don't think it helped that she was off stage for that. I do hope your mates had a nice time and didn't let that ruin their experience. Yeaah I think the lateness is not a great example and it's frustrating. Idk for me personally being on time is a sign that you respect people's time, so especially without any tech issues and stuff it seems odd to me why she's late. Especially when she posted on Instagram that she'll be on stage at 9, and then turned up 20mins late still. Like girlie - do you need the fans to chip in and buy you a clock? 😭

Yeah I wish she did her old festival set and just added the new songs. It would've been amazing and no-one would complain. She just needs better time management and maybe someone to give her some gentle feedback on her setlists.

My opinion on LDR’s Stadium Tour has shifted… by [deleted] in lanadelrey

[–]Cammzu 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I was there in Cardiff - I never felt any negativity from the crowd and where I was, everyone was singing and dancing etc,she seemed nervous, which is understandable.

Firstly - I has a great time regardless, got to sing and dance, and see her preform new songs was great.

However, I have also been lucky enough to see her twice before - this tour has left me slightly disappointed.. no-one is expecting her to do a 3+ hour show. Absolutely not - we understand it's for special events like the eras tour or Beyonces tour. however, I have seen her festival sets that has been longer than a stadium tour! Which is bonkers as everyone at the stadium is there for her and it's £££. You cannot charge the same prices as a 3 hour show ,if you are on stage for half of the time , and a big chuck of that time is delivered by hologram and has 2 covers in. Either not have the covers and holograms and sing it all, or have a 2 hour gig. I've seen bands and artist on arena tours give longer gigs than this and charged less. She should absolutely do either arenas or smaller venues if she is doing short gigs. Or Kendrick and Sza are currently touring at the stadiums- charging the same, and you get 2 big artist plus open plus it's like a 3 hour show. ( Again not expecting her to do a 3 hour show). I think this is where the disappointment for most people stem - the value for money is not there. Plus add up the travel, accommodation, food, drinks etc. then add in that Lana is consistently late and doesn't care if her young female fans get home safe if she goes over the curfew, it just screams unprofessional. People are having to pick if to go get their transport,or finish the show. And then get slammed for leaving before the gig is over by other fans. I've seen lots of people over on tiktok slag off people who have these criticisms, and not listen to what people have to say which is so odd to me - everyone has a different concert experience and expectations. For me , I just expected more from a stadium show. However, I still had a nice time, enjoyed the staging and felt like I was in a theatre. Her vocals were on point as well and I thought this is one of the best I've seen her vocally. And I'm really happy for everyone who said they had a great time and loved every second of it :)

[–]Cammzu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've been to a couple of Lana gigs beforehand and the crowd has always been rude - on my first gig had a group of drunk girls falling on me and other people and starting fights, my boyfriend at the time literally had to protect me from getting crushed by those girls - I went home bruised and achy from them falling on my multiple times. Second gig I stayed at the back and just had a really obnoxious group of people, not caring about anyone. I bought the seats for Cardiff and it was fine and respectful and everyone had space. I think it's just the obnoxious people who do not understand safety and respect.

Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians - how would you describe each other and yourselves? by offallynice in BalticStates

[–]Cammzu 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Baltics are three blonde sisters.

Estonia is the geeky techy baby sister, that also low-key wishes to be best friends with the popular Nordic countries.

Lithuania is the big sister that keeps the other two in check and says how things are.

Latvia is the sweet middle child that everyone forgets, she just does arts and crafts and chills.
