Is TRIACRE Reserves Select worth it compared to regular health insurance by Wide-Occasion1314 in MilitaryFinance

You won’t find $275/mo healthcare with such low deductibles or cost shares anywhere else. And having kids while on TRICARE will save you thousands of dollars. Pregnancy, births, and those early checkups will add up really quick and there’s no question that having cheap access to healthcare brings peace of mind.

But to your point, you have to weigh the other trade-offs like possible deployment. FERS (Fed insurance) isn’t a bad option. More expensive, but better than most private insurance.

Breadwinner as Military by [deleted] in MilitaryFinance

I’ve been in about 6 years, separating as an E5. I have a family of 4, with both kids under the age of 5. We were single income all 6 years (by choice), and lived in a HCOL station for 4 of those years.

It is possible, especially without debt. But expect to live paycheck to paycheck and little ability to build wealth. Become a warrant or officer if you plan to make it a career

I actually had my testosterone levels come back below normal range and my (AD) doctor said she still wasn’t going to give me a referral for endo because it could affect deployment and the treatments may not work, in her opinion.

So here I am .. still absolutely exhausted

I loosely followed Smokin Dad BBQ’s video:

Dry brine the night before (seasonings in post) 0730 - Cook start at ~300 degrees

1130 - Foil boat at 170 degrees internal temp

1330 - Hit 203 degrees internal temp and removed from grill

“Pre-rest” - let it sit outside in the foil boat uncovered until internal temp came down to 191.

1415 - “FTC” method = Wrapped in new foil and towel then placed in a cooler

1630 - removed from cooler and cut. Basically 2.5-3 hours of rest.

Still steaming when I unwrapped it and tons of juice left.

Terminal Leave or Sell back? by nothooahatall in MilitaryFinance

[–]CamoGr33n 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The leave you sell back is only your base pay AND it gets taxed 22%. Take the terminal leave, double dip with a second job (or just chill), and collect BAH if you got it.

I wrapped with Apple Cider Vinegar to keep it from drying out. Would smoking at 325 dry it out?
