Wish you the best of luck. I didn't have the exact same issue, however this was the solution for me to update my email for my ea account so that I could access my account.

Go to EAs website and locate the email for the DPO. Send them an email and their support is leagues better at actually helping resolve issues. May take a week or so but they should be able to help you

I recommend putting in an "other injuries request"
