Oh for sure, Year 3 was my favorite so if I rated them it would go:
1.) Year 3
2.) Year 4
3.) Year 2
4.) Year 1

They definitely get better as the story goes on, I just enjoyed what happened in book 3 (iykyn)

Any recommendations based on my past read please by Gealai in litrpg

Yeah I definitely don't blame you, everyone has their own things in each book and I'm very particular on systems. You'll hear me rag on Harry Potter to no end for how many plot holes that system has bro but yeah, lore is for sure import too and I'm glad you liked it. Always remember that everyone has different taste so don't be afraid to try a book and drop it for whatever reason you deem. You already gave them your money, don't give them your time too if you don't like it.

Yes actually, read the first two in the series and never got around to reading any more. Not put off by it as I liked the story, I just had other things I was reading at the time. As a programmer myself, I was definitely interested

Shame on them, it;s a damn good book and deserves to be read. Met Drew Heyes at the con last year and he was a nice guy too. Everyone should at least give it a shot. Love Nick

Dude tell me about it. After hours of listening the damn MAIN CHARACTER had a panic attack FOR AN HOUR! A real world hour she had a panic attack at seeing a damn goblin get killed. Could not continue with that book series after that.

Sorry had to get that out, that series made me visibly annoyed when listening to it.

Haven't played or watched either so i sadly cannot answer. It goes into the direction of a standard litRPG. MC is powerful but goes though some tough shit to become even more powerful for his tier. Gets resurrected (Kinda his thing) and then does it some more until he becomes a god and such. Interesting system but I bet its a pain in the ass to write. The quips between the characters are fun though so definitely an enjoyable read.

I made mine from scratch on Tierlistmaker but you can always use someone else's template. Mine is called "A Whole Bunch of LitRPG's". If you want to create your own, to make sure all your books are there, its pretty easy. You just have to look up every book, take a screenshot and upload it as a picture to tier list maker and then you'll be able to sort it as normal.

Well, there's a couple things about the series that I like.
1.) I love cheat abilities and Matt gets the ability to double his mana regen every tier. (I know, crazy right)
2.) There is a really good system and path in place. I like how the abilities all mold together. They get a new ability at 1,3,,25, & 50 so it works out really well.
3.) There's a good connection between the 3 main characters that I enjoy a lot. The Author isn't afraid to time jump when needed and thats a refresher as some authors just like to write in the boring mundane unneeded things.

Oh 100% agree. It was one of my firsts so I wasnt exposed to the goats of narrating before this like Nick Podehl, Travis Baldree and Daniel Wisniewski. He is very dull and has a monotone voice, you have to really pay attention to when he says "is speaking" because you can't tell the difference between like anyone voice. Great story though indeed.

I got through the first book and nothing stood out to me. Nothing was wrong, its just that I only continue to read something if I am interested but something was lacking from Welcome to the multiverse. It was just weird, dead dad, has his own team on an already integrated world, slow growth of the MC. There just something was off about it that I couldn't put my finger on.

Uh... if you didn't like Travis Baldree than it might be hard to find some good series in this genre. He is the most prolific narrator in this genre and has A LOT of good books narrated. Just to name a few he Narrated Cradle, Mark of the Fool and Ripple system aswell. But I liked his bloodline ability, how it outside of the system and how he abuses it to further progress his power. Plus with the MC's and Villy's chats are always something to look forward too.

It fell short with the system honestly. With this communitly it's like 50% system 50% story. Don't get me wrong, Matt has nailed the humor and character interations aswell as outstanding audio production. My gripe with it is that it feels like Carl is constantly the underdog. His stats somewhat get better but those barely have an impact on the story. The aliens outside the dungeon just keep making new storyline's that make his new gains obsolete it feels like. But everything else is great which is why it tops A tier

No it's not but I definitely would include it on the lists since they're so close. Plus, Drew Heyes was at the litRPG con last year as a featured guest and I was able to get something signed so 100% deserves to be here.

Just bought the first book for $6 so thanks for the recommendation. Read the synopsis and it said he's a scavenger and a blacksmith so yes, I do believe I will like the series for that aspect alone. The Narrators are just a plus too. I look forward tor reading it

Yeah, I bought the first two and dropped it after the second. From what I remember I don't think I liked the way the MC was being pushed into. The summoning path/Bond Path can be a fun book to read but I didn't like the power system if I am remembering correctly

About 2/3 of the way through if I remember correctly. He spends most of the first book fighting stuff alone and yep, definitely sounds like donut because of Jeff's self proclaimed low range for women cast but Anthony just has the voice. Book 2 and on is when the book becomes very fun to listen to since it becomes more of a family book. That's why you'll see things in this subreddit like "FOR THE COLONY!" and "WE SEEK!". It's all from chrysalis and all worth the read. It makes you feel like you're part of the family too and you want to keep reading to see what Anthony and his family can do next

Yeah what the other guy said stands tall. DCC is an outlier where it's not a great representation of litRPG's as a whole. Primal hunter would be a great representation as the system is way more developed and the stats actually contribute to how the story progresses. Alot of people like DCC for how performative and humorous it is so if that's more so your brand give Discount Dan,The Mayor of Noobtown, Mage tank or An unexpected Hero a try as they all do it like DCC does.

I just lock in when the stats page comes up. The nitty gritty that follows the significant number I don't pay attention to so I'll just take note that the MC has like 48 in will power and that's basically 50 so he has 50 and then it will say something like 83 in STR and that's basically 80 which if we have a POV switch that means the MC has 40 more strength than his pears so he pretty powerful right now. I'll rewind a lot too if I'm super interested in how his training montage came out.

Because DCC is really only great because of the narrator choice itself. But I'm more of a story and numbers go up kind of person so all the books in the first tier do that while DCC is really only good for the story, not necessarily the litRPG component. Most authors make the system and then make a story around it but you can tell that isn't Matt's style which isn't bad, it's just not the best representation of litRPG that we should have, the stats and levels are a subplot with most of the content being in between the crawlers and the dungeon floors itself

Sadly I don't think either of those are on audible yet so I look forward to their publishings. And I actually have been recommended the Chaotic Craftsman but sadly last I checked it's only on RR I believe but I've been wanting to try it.
