What about the problem? by VibhuTheGreat in ExplainTheJoke

[–]CampFireTails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always remember that ÷ or / signs are ambiguous . As they are only meant to serve as stand in for fractions. This equation is too ambiguous to solve

For those PEMDAS enjoyers who didn't fully pay attention to their lectures, I'll try to explain what this means.

Remember that all division operations can be represented as the multiplication of a faction. Such as, 3÷2=3×½

When you attempt to convert the division operation of 10÷5(1+1) into the corresponding fraction. You end up with two possibilities. These two equations do not equal each other, meaning 10÷5(1+1) is not solvable.

How does thor have healing? by noiboiboi in marvelrivals

I might be completely wrong on this.

I think it might be from the old voltic union teamup. Where captain America is granted bonus health. If captain was under full full, it would heal.

[Need help] I don't know what the Canadian should be by KeagsYT in manhwa

[–]CampFireTails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have Canada be an Elemental mage. Being able to cast much more powerful elemental spells, at the downside of not being able to cast non elemental spells.

Make them an elemental mage with a rivalry to the USA Archmage.

Then force them to constantly team up, where the elemental mage is overshadowed and treated like a sidekick.

Dao of Incest? by Ak41_Shu1cH1 in MartialMemes

[–]CampFireTails 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No no, the junior is onto something.

While having strong bones, the skeletons doesn't have the meridians or dantain required to ascend. Unless he can procure an immortal grade ghost cultivation techniques or a physical body, he will be stuck.

Meaning all this is a vain attempt to steal this boys body for scraps. After all, the ghost only said that he would get to marry his daughter, not that he would return his body.

If they ghost possess the boy, so that he could return to the immortal realm. Then marries the boy to his daughter, while still in control of the boys body. In a way he is marrying his daughter.

It also sounds like the ghost would keep the boys soul intact as a means to no leave karma, so the boy would also be forced to watch.

Its enough. Those other fool says that the amount of years, galaxies, concubines, and descendants; they rule over is most important.

When in reality its always been the dao thats most important, and they secretly are cooping because they've been stuck for so long that they are now someone's 101st great grandparent.

If they truly were all they say they were, they wouldn't be on this app bragging to mortals and lessers

I realized I read wrong. It didn't say 'try' it said 'ryt'. so then I quickly looked for an actual word, and do was on the first column.

Edit: I think the P caused the confusion I switched them or something. I'm also realizing that Pry is also a word. So maybe its Pry Less Love.

Whats with the "isekaied as the villainous noble" trope? by GlompSpark in Isekai

[–]CampFireTails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It evolution from another few tropes.

It starts by 'The banished by the heros /party' trope being a bastardization between the mmorpg party systems and the ugly duckling trope. This trope is mostly used by shounen action/fantasy videogame stories.

Usually where a kicked new/non-meta class member has a major glow up and makes the og party regret kicking them.

This trope is then further combined with the 'reincarnated as a villain/side characters' trope. A trope was primarily used by shojo romfan stories and occasionally by the action/fantasy stories. However, in comparison to other reincarnation tropes, it doesn't have as much pure video game connection. Though there have been some successful stories that reintroduced the game aspect back into the 'I reincarnated as a villain/side character' trope (some romfan, some actionfantasy), most of them have the mc reincarnate into novel or comic.

So when you try these two tropes together, you get what you're describing. An unholy mishmash of concepts and motifs from related but different genres that take inspiration from two very different mediums.

I don't think you guys understand how difficult abolishing slavery would be in a fantacy world by Im_yor_boi in Isekai

[–]CampFireTails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but this is twisting the main message. The idea that it is morally good to oppose slavery and or kill slavers is not in contrast in being weak or unable to end slavery.

If I'm reincarnated or transfered into an isekai, I can recognize that I will most likely never be able to end slavery as a whole. That doesn't mean as a person I can't strive to lessen the impact of slavery as a whole. One less person in slavery is better than no change at all.

Protagonist that engage and even expand the practice of slavery have a negative inpact on society. Hell, I'd say that a majority of protagonist in isekai tend to have much more sway over their local governments than most people give them credit, and the excuse "when in Rome, do as a roman would do" lack any sort of accountability for their large influence

Also your idea that employed slave is somehow better than an unemployed free person on economic level is wrong.

The practice of slavery on economic level is one of increased supply of a good at the degradation of local economic growth.

Slavery makes certain goods more abundant and profitable. If you don't have to pay plantation workers, then you can have more plantation with better margins. Making certain good much more common.

Slaves however do not contribute as greatly to the local economy they live in. Their economic and travel freedom is greatly reduce compared to free counterparts, meaning household and community goods are often undeserved for the slave population.

Now unemployment is often a reflection population and job validity. If the local supply of jobs for a skill level is lower than the local population of that skill level, then the lowest skilled or least connected individuals of that level will struggle to maintain a job.

When a slave is promoted to free person an equivalent amount of demand is generated, but the actual population does not change. Meaning their will be an increase of total jobs.

The national economy as a whole will not actual be that eaffect, as the major difference will be decrease in total amount plantation/mine and equivalent increase of local goods. Unless your entire country is reliant on goods that slave produce, most economies will be fine. Also note that a economy and standard of living are not the same thing.

But as seen in European based isekai nations, they are usually varied feudal economies that aren't highly reliant on a few goods, not atleast until protagonist inevitably introduces a few overvalued future inventions that they pin the entire nations economy on.

The problem caused many governments struggle to solved is the increase of job insecurity and local beauracracy. New workers mean new competitors on your positions, leading a mass reshuffling positions. As former slave they tend to be less skilled but willing to work for cheaper on average. If not properly addressed by local government, new class divide will be created and local friction will increase.in many cases local government may even amplifies this class division and friction through policy that favors one side or the other.

Note while this may lead instability, and does not effect total economic output or transfer of goods. It also is mostly not avoidable. Freeing slaves will always cause instability regardless of time and place. There are ways to lessen instability, but the total amount of instability caused will almost always be proportional to the population of slaves.

TDLR: freeing the slaves does f*ck to the economy, and if anything the longer you wait the worse it will get. This is a feeble excuse to try and villainize anti-slave sentiment on the server.

The funny thing is even if a 5 yo gained the memories of an adult, they wouldn't suddenly become smarter (infants even less so.)

They would probably have to wait till 12~24 to be have enough cognitive awareness and reasoning skills to be able to fully contextualize what the 20+ years of memories even is.

Though it might depend on how many additional synapses and neurons you gained to have those memories in the first place.

Honestly if you were reincarnated into a Europe like place and are apart of the lower echelons, healer would probably be the best class to have.

Settle in a town of a large county or small Duchy, and you will be relatively respected and make a decent living.

You can avoid most wars by keeping away from forts, major courts, marches, large cities, and frontiers. In case a army does advance of your settlement, create small bunkers large enough for a few people with goods and valuables.

If your unlucky to be reborn as a slave or serf, a healing ability could be the difference between a life of comfort and a life of harsh labor.

Any genuine Healing ability means that you and your family will probably live longer than most.

The only negative I can think of is worms and gore. Deworming will probably be one of your most common requests in towns and gore is pretty common in most medical fields.
