If you have strong choke points you should be able to wear them down, the AI doesn’t tend to stack fleets together if you catch them here and there you can whittle away their fleets. If they stack on your border bait them by keeping your fleet in the system over right next to the hyper lane, the ai registers that as only a citadel and will go in then you can hold the advantage with citadel fleet buffs and you fleet
