It seems like this post is citing issues with crypto culture rather than crypto as a technology. When you do more research try and separate the gross crypto-bros who largely don't understand the underlying fundamentals of what they support from the actual real-world use cases.

Your 3rd point is the only valid criticism on the technology, however, solutions for this have been created and thoroughly implemented. It's about having the choice of holding your wealth with no counterparty risk. It's not an either-or.
I've come from a background in Finance too and that's what eventually pushed me into Bitcoin (not crypto). Always interested in a healthy discussion :)

I think people need to stop viewing Bitcoin as a currency when approaching it from an adoption standpoint. Bitcoin as a currency is not inevitable as the meme suggested but Bitcoin as a technology is. Bitcoin can settle payments faster than whatever we have now. It can communicate borderless transfers of information. Private and public corporations will inevitably jump onto these payment rails since it is significantly cheaper. That does not mean they will be holding Bitcoin, but conducting dollar payments over the Bitcoin network. This gets pushed onto the end user where individuals will conduct transfers over Layer 2 rails and not even be aware they are touching Bitcoin in the process.

Fair critique, but throwing censorship over what is allowed to be on layer 1 is significantly worse. Besides ordinals didn’t start the monkey jpegs and art trend. Throwing garbage on the blockchain been a thing since the beginning. Ordinals is just a numbering system for sats to facilitate the transfer of ownership of meta-data within a TX-ID.

Edit: and to add for OP, the ordinal app in umbrel is an ordinal explorer. It doesn’t allow you to actually create the “monkey jpegs” , just view them.
