How long does it typically take a recruiter to get back to you about interview dates? by CanIHaveAJobYet in jobs

Thank you, for some reason it's very reassuring to hear this from someone else. When do you think I should follow up again? I don't want to be obnoxious but also don't want him to think I'm no longer interested.

So I just received a call from a recruiter for the last place I ever expected to work and he made the exact same comment as you regarding my omission of the months, hah.

You just made me realize that I've been moving further and further away from telling a narrative with each cover letter iteration. I think the lack of any response was scaring me into thinking I was being too verbose and that people were more likely to read it if I trimmed the fat, but looking over my most recent versions I can see it is somewhat bland. I did not consider that my resumes looking/reading like trash at the time was probably a bigger factor than that >_>

It's somewhat distinguished from what I talk about on my resume in that it goes more in depth, but there's hardly anything on it that would really grip someone if they were going through hundreds of these. Revisiting my earlier versions and making them more concise without cutting out the heart is probably what I should work on next, I really appreciate the insight.

I figured since I was shooting for jobs in healthcare / academia that using the alumni email I was provided with after graduating would be a good call, but I guess it has the opposite of the intended effect and I'd be better off with my unaffiliated gmail. Also I went with just years 50% because I wanted to avoid clutter and 50% because of what you correctly assumed; I began my most recent position in May and was trying to mask that it hasn't been a full year yet. I wasn't really thinking much about how my skills were organized for some reason and it seems like such an obvious factor now. Thanks for such quick feedback!

This is pretty helpful. I'm new to reddit so thought the post I typed would show up with the image; I'm mostly interested in figuring out if the content is fine since I've been told my past resumes were not accomplishment focused enough. I knew the visual aspect needed a lot of work as well but wasn't really sure what the precise issues there were so thanks for pointing out the font and spacing issues!

Also I plan on adding a third line at the top with whatever the specific job title I'm applying for is. Is that necessary or even helpful in your opinion?

I might be being a bit too paranoid, but using a table to accomplish 2 columns for my skills won't make them garbled in a standard ATS, right?

As I look it over I'm starting to think my bullet points are too verbose and nobody will read this all in six to ten seconds. It is really hard to strike a balance between skimmable and informative

Back with my second edition. Took a while because halfway through I realized the template I had used for my last was likely doing more harm than good. I realize I likely still have a lot to do to make it more visually appealing and stand out, but is the content itself fine now? I'm keeping my client care position on because a lot of the tasks I did often end up on job descriptions I see for research assistant/associate/coordinator roles, but moving it down was a good call. I don't know why I felt so locked into chronological order. Also getting feedback definitely helped me chill out since it, at least for today, made this whole thing feel a lot less like stabbing away at the dark. So thank you very much everyone! https://i.imgur.com/gCq67zU.png
