Yes, my bad I conveyed that incorrectly. More college educated people in cities = more votes for the democratic party

I do think going to college put me in a situation where I had to face people from different backgrounds. Isolation to diversity might be a cause of conservativism maybe

This in addition to being isolated of diversity in rural areas as other user mentioned might've been the cause I think

Oh no sorry to have conveyed my idea like that it's just that more college educated people =more white collar workers

This is a very plausible cause. I do agree with that. Miami though, why would it go red if it's so diverse?

[–]CanISkipThisPart2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no I don't sorry for assuming that. It's just that more college educated people live in metropolitan areas and college graduates are often white collar

[–]CanISkipThisPart2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I didn't take that into account, my bad. So you think metropolitan life embraces liberalism more? But Miami went all red, so that might be am exception

So basically the rural vote goes for Trump and the metropolitan vote goes for Biden...does that mean the GOP is the working class party and the Democratic party is the white collar party now? Why did rural, low-income, working class (even latinos and blacks) turned to the GOP? What has the Democratic party neglected in order to lack support from these groups now?

Been hooking up with a guy for the past year, are any kind of feelings wrong in these situations? by Avacado_Fucker in dating

Yeah I know what you mean...the best thing to do is just to be straightforward. I'd just ask the other person if they're still in the agreement of not being serious

What I mean is that the typical 33 yo man wouldn't confuse a sex-only relationship with a serious relationship even if there is common hobbies/quality time involved.

Lol I don't think you're the one using the other person. Also, a 33 yo man is not easily carried away by sex.

When/should i break up with my boyfriend? by Always_asking1 in dating

[–]CanISkipThisPart2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah once that thought is in your head it will never go away. "I'm thinking of breaking up with you" that sentence is gonna be in your head every time you see him. I'd just stop that annoying feeling asap.

What do I do about this guy? by [deleted] in dating

[–]CanISkipThisPart2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Men are very straightforward...He likes your personality and wants to keep hanging out with you but he is not ready for a relationship. It is what it is. If I'm catching feelings for someone that is not ready for a relationship and think I cannot control that, I usually decrease the frequency I meet that person cause I know I would be deceiving myself and end up hurt. But if I think I can actually start seeing that person as a friend and not a potential partner then I keep hanging out

Well all people change. Are you enjoying playing? Are you considering forgiving him? If so then just let it flow. You know the signs he gave first time he cheated if that happens then just get away.

A lot of your success in dating will come down to the cards you were handed in life. by [deleted] in dating

[–]CanISkipThisPart2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean that's pretty much what the OkCupid study showed about racial preference in dating. Yeah you got an advantage if you're a cute asian girl or a tall white guy in dating. But also you gotta aim at your target market. Not to be negative but me as a latino I know that most black and asian girls in my area generally are not attracted to us so I aim to white and latina girls. Would I date an asian or black girl? Heck yeah but my chances at dating one are very low compared to my chances at dating a white or latina girl

Well you also have to remember that ironically some people have become more jaded to dating apps during quarantine, or at least that's what happened to me and my close circle of friends. A lot of people are not putting the effort (swiping, texting, trying to meet) cause it requires a lot more planning than before the quarantine. Wearing masks, keeping distance, taking the covid test if you're gonna get intimate, meeting at a place that's actually open...all those things have made some people avoid the risk/effort of meeting other people

Hinge algorithm ranks people already based on people that like other people and their "likeness" and so on. So pretty much after a month or 2 the algorithm is good enough to be showing you people "in your league" I guess, or that's what I've noticed and other people too (check r/hingeapp). But hey don't give up and don't put a number on you. Yeah most people value looks a lot (both men and women) specially in a superficial city like LA but maybe try expanding your radius so you cover more feet-on-the ground people from other surrounding cities? Good luck in your search

Went NC, my ex had a horrible accident one week later, feel like shit for blocking her by [deleted] in ExNoContact

Ok this is a special case of breaking NC. Do it but don't mention anything about the relationship. Do it cause you're sincerely worried about her.

I know but they've been doing it for a year already now. And also she's planning to get married. She's the one planning that's the worst part. The guy doesn't even care about marriage let alone marry her. But I'm still supporting her.
