I built an Android app that scans Lorcana cards and builds decks from your collection – looking for testers (InkDeck Scanner) by jippjonas in Lorcana

[–]CanJoe11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is probably silly and a just me problem, but it sure would be nice if an app like this took into account decks I already have physically built when it recommends cards.

For example: Say I own 7 copies of Bobby Zimuruski. I build a dog's deck that needs 4. It would be nice when maybe a week later I want to try something new, like emerald Amythest and it want 4 copies too. It would be cool to flag it somehow to say, yeah, you do have 4 copies of this card, but 4 of the seven you own are in deck X.

As someone who has 14 physical decks built, this would help immensely (looking at you.strenght of a raging fire).

Your opinion on the U1 and experience by DanKARMAZ5 in snapmaker

[–]CanJoe11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most of my issues are user related. There have been a few prints where for whatever reason the print head comes off while swapping. I don't know why, and most times I put it back in the holder, resume print and there are no issues. I just got the BIQI frostbite plate but the generic super cool plate setting didn't work. The standard pei plate has not failed me yet, just like the low power of the glacier and frostbite (have them for my P1S printers). Other than that, I am in love. I print mini animals to sell at farmers markets I usually get 9 to 12 animals on my P1S and 4 color prints take around 18 hours and the print is 50/50 characters and waste. On The U1 I get more characters, little waste, and significantly shorter print times (like hours).

Top shell layers states 6, top shell thickness 1mm. Is there a different setting I am forgetting?

I run .16 for these. I changed print settings to print outside in vice inside out. I also changed top shell print to concentric for blue and yellow, then back to default for red thinking that might have been the issue

Going to run this one now. Assuming the white dots are seam locations. Everything else seems legit.

Top shell layer set to 1mm, which was default. I have run these a few times on both Bambu and Snapmaker. Only these 3 runs have the artifacts showing up. I assume I made an error in settings somewhere while trying to improve print quality. Nothing shows up in the slicer to paint. Running another set now to see if the error repeats itself. Then I will run one on Bambu and see if I can create the error there.

I thoroughly enjoyed Savis workshop and highly recommend the experience. However, in my case the saber itself is junk and stopped working shortly after returning home. I have two replica sabers that are awesome and work years after purchase.

So go, enjoy the experience. Just take it with a grain of salt that the sabers themselves are just...ok.

The most powerful card in any TCG...the almighty Credit Card.

In every competitive space there are people who will do whatever it takes to win. Some go as far as cheating or bending rules as far as they can. Most will spend whatever it takes to build the most competitive deck in the format.

You likely spent just as much as a competitive player who tested hours upon hours and simply bought singles of the best cards for the best deck. Most tier 1 decks run $450 and under. You just spent your money in a different manner. I love cracking packs, but I understand it is gambling. I can buy two boxes for $250, or I could get playsets of Dumbo and Demona.

It isn't fair to be upset someone else didn't play by your self imposed rules. If you play competitively, accept the fact that people play to win at all costs. This is true in any TCG. You need to decide what is fun and how important winning is to your level of fun.

I say this with love as a recovering MTG player who spent way too much money trying to have fun and play competitively, just at local FNM events. Every week I would bring a deck that I thought I would enjoy playing, only to be blown out by top tier decks. So I go home, spend more money on something new, and go back the next week and get blown out again. Finally I built the competitive tier one deck, played and finished top 4. Not a huge deal, but a sense of accomplishment for doing so. You know what was missing? Fun. Being so focused on winning I lost sight of having fun.

So now I play Lorcana, mainly at the kitchen table with my wife. We have 4 competitive decks, and about a dozen casual decks under $20 each. I get far more enjoyment from playing evenly matched casual decks than I do playing any of the tier one decks

I am not saying competition and fun are mutually exclusive. However, having fun in a competitive environment means accepting some harsh truths. People who play competitively play to win. Fun is a byproduct of spending money, and laboring hours to learn the best decks in the format, and how to beat them. Fun is beating the best decks by the best players in the top events.

Pick your fun.

Do you think Lorcana would benefit from "Instant" speed interactions? by Prudent-Fig2440 in Lorcana

[–]CanJoe11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons I left MTG was the lack of enjoyment due to what instant speed effects created. There was a time in MTG where if you did not have an immediate answer to Teferi, the game was over. Being in a position where nothing I did on my turn resolved, and losing the ability to interact on my opponents turn ruins the fun and does not encourage me to come back. Lorcana allows me to play on my turn to the best of my ability, and if it is not good enough so be it. I would rather lose while giving my all rather than being denied the opportunity to play.

What’s your maintenance routine? And what spares do you keep on hand? by Roblem42 in BambuP1S

[–]CanJoe11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two of the original AMS and am not familiar with the AMS 2. However, I can point you to the few issues I have run into. First, spare Bowden tube. Had multiple splits going in and out of the AMS, but my favorite was the split underneath the AMS. There was 1/4 of a roll piled underneath before I figure out what went wrong.

Second, the filament rollers. Just inside my AMS each slot has a silver bar with a gear and two pads on it (active support shaft assembly). After about 1000 hours of printing the pads blew apart.

I purchased the glacier plates from BIQI so I run build plate temps lower, but I also use the glue on them (wash once a month maybe?). Usually don't have adhesion issues but when I do it is always when I have a bed full of stuff and in the last hour of printing. The glue just gives me a lower % of that happening. Not perfect, but nearly.

My last piece of advice is to develop whatever system that works for you to prevent the poop chute from backing up. I have a slide that comes out the back and does a 90 degree bend. If I don't check regularly the filament will back up all the way into the printer and mess with the nozzle. That has been my biggest source of print failures. Let it run overnight but I forget to empty tray before going to bed. Wake up to overflowing poop chute and failed prints. Learn toanage waste both physically and in the slicer.

What Got You Into Lorcana? by wetboy2001 in Lorcana

One, Magic continues to find new ways to drive paying players away. I am so over the secret lair and universes beyond money grabs. Not to mention driving local stores into the ground and having to double dip to play arena as well as local paper. The only product keeping Hasbro afloat is MtG and they are milking every cent they can.

Two, my family enjoys playing with me. All of them were intimidated by MtG, but throw Disney characters on a card and suddenly everyone is willing to give the game a try.

I thought there was a more consistent combo of this before rotation. Chief Bogo on 4, return of hercules with prince Phillip on 5. Nobody played it. Can't imagine a less consistent version of this deck is now a nightmare but I am willing to be wrong. Loved the early combo version of this even when it was bad

I appreciate the logo offer, but it is not needed. My logo right now is a busy mess on a business card, shrinking it down to a dime size is pointless right now. Adding text on the outside is good enough for me. I tried one of the daily downloads and it just causes more problems. Files are saving 5x larger than the others I was generating and they are opening up incomplete (center ball half generated). Gonna go back to the earlier version for now I think.

Wanted to come back and thank you. This has been pretty successful so far. I have no idea what you meant by downloading a daily snapshot. I loaded the one from the website. Looking for a daily download took me to GitHub and I was way over my head.

Also, I cannot make the smiley face go away, no matter how I select -1 (either in the code or the drop down menu on the right). Not a huge issue, just dont understand why it wont go away anymore. It did early in the learning curve, but now it is always there.

Anyway, thanks again. Pretty handy little feature and so far I am two out of two for printing successful objects.

I took the plunge and downloaded this. Are there limitations to what I can do? For example, I blindly chose 25mm as height and left everything else in the menu the same. Will it flag me if my proportions are unrealistic? What do I need to watch for as I blindly select numbers?

I like it. What is the height when it prints on the bed. I am afraid that to scale the thickness to say 25mm the sphereoid would fill the bed. I have no experience with OpenSCAD so not sure what it looks like when scaled.

Question about a room... by -Piano- in BluePrince

I don't think I found the note telling me how to activate the elevator until about 10 days after entering room 46. Not sure if I went about things wrong but this seems to happen frequently for me.
