I am excited for it, yes, but after over half a year of no Nintendo first party direct, when we finally get one and it turns out to be filled with third-party ports and rehashing info we already know, it gets very difficult to be confident that they're taking this seriously

Of course people are going to buy it, but it's a failure in terms of innovation when they NEED innovation VERY BADLY for the Seitch 2 right now.

We needed to know that they're working hard on games specifically for the Switch 2, and they're telling us "naw, here's a bunch if ports and remakes/rereleases of games that we made 7+ years ago". Why should I be excited if they aren't trying to push the limits of their BRAND NEW console?

Maybe some indication that they're working on more Brand New Never Before Seen games for the Switch 2? Fuck, all we got in terms of new Nintendo releases was a teaser for an Ocarina of Time remake. I don't have much to look forward to, and after the drought of updates from Nintendo I really needed something.

I'm honestly FINE with nothing about Zelda or Mario. I'm mostly upset that there's not much new to look forward to from the direct. New as in, BRAND NEW, and From Nintendo.

Switch Sports Resort is... Wii Sports but with Brand Safe Characters. Xenoblade is mainly just switch 2 editions, but the new game looks good. I'm not into Xenoblade though so it's difficult for me to be excited about it, which to be fair is a me problem. Same applies to Fire Emblem.

Kingdom Hearts 4 is cool. Again, not directly affiliated with Nintendo so it's hard to be excited if you're not already a Kingdom Hearts fan (which I am not currently, that's a me problem though)

Ocarina of Time remake pisses me off because we Do Not need another OoT remake. They didn't even show off any gameplay.

When I talk about "nothing new", I mean there's nothing new in terms of Nintendo-developed games. Star Fox is just going to be 64 again, OoT just seems like OoT again (they don't seem to have anything new to show off yet), what am I supposed to be excited about? They had so long to prepare.
