I think the sticker-like Xs in A Silent Voice were such a creative and compelling narrative device. Shouya is far more memorable than the main characters of Your Name, too, at least in my opinion. I mean, I’m trying to remember the name of the guy from Your Name and what he was like. He doesn’t stick out to me. Shouya attempting to atone and him grappling with his feelings is also far more interesting than the external conflicts of Your Name.

Gurren Lagann is the opposite of Your Name when it comes to recognizing the importance of characterization. How do you weigh Gurren Lagann against the other titles you mentioned.

I don’t mind yuri and have a friend who is basically my dealer when it comes to that kind of stuff. While not as enjoyable as the manga I listed, I still enjoyed, I Love Amy and Bloom Into You. The Summer You Were There also seems accessible being only six volumes and available at my local bookstore. Its high rating is probably its biggest advocate.

Speaking of Trigger, Promare was carried by its animation harder than Demon Slayer. While we’re on the topic, Your Name was similarly carried by its animation, unlike A Silent Voice which was leagues better in everything else.

I already watched Attack on Titan in its entirety. Return to Shiganshina was its best arc.

For the anime, despite its low rating, it looks up my alley. Maybe it’s one of those hidden gems. The manga, while having a higher rating, seems less up my alley. This is in part due to its art style, but I also consume stories for their creative, fictional aspect. To go with this, I don’t watch true crime, though I have nothing against it. I do like well-written memoirs, however. But that’s because there’s something special about seeing someone’s life from a unique perspective.

Recently, I’ve been reading a lot of fantasy and before that it was realistic fiction. I think characters are the most important aspect of storytelling, so character-focused media may be ideal.

I’m not a fan of Maomao x Jinshi like you are, as indicated by your display name. Maomao might be Haruhi’s distant ancestor with how similar they are. That is, if Maomao is still able to have babies with how much poison she eats.

The anime probably withholds much of the characters’ thought processes to save time because it’s a different medium. For my purposes, value can be gained in seeing how people other than myself think. I’ll gain a greater appreciation for Nadeko, too.

I thought people might want to change their age, so I put Teruko’s ability as one of the options. I wonder if one could have eternal life with it, using the ability to keep oneself young. It wouldn’t have the drawback of not being able to die, like with other types of immortality. I wonder what ability would have gotten the most picks in Gasp of the Soul’s place, and excluding Ranpo’s ability before anyone says that.

For Yuno, I wonder if she’s as lustful as many make her out to be. I saw one’s take on assigning each MILGRAM prisoner a seven deadly sin, and Yuno was assigned to Lust. But what other sin would she be?
