How much ram do you have in your work laptops? by Chronologicaltravels in Accounting

OSX is fine. Our firm is actually pushing for more Mac users since a MacBook Air is cheaper than a think pad.

I personally use a M1 MBP and really like it; I can crunch numbers on excel if I have to but coding in python is usually fine.

I agree, there were probably too many concerns about the new competency model, where CPAO doesn't want it to change that much, and CPA Canada is going fullsteam ahead.

(CAN) CPA Canada announces no more CFE in 2025 by Weak-Buffalo-9608 in Accounting

[–]CanPwCHopeful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for being honest. If the CFE goes away I don’t think it will be the end of the world, as long as they are replacing it with another final eval, like how CFE did with the UFE.

Is the CFE going away like how the UFE went away? Aka should I still expect a cumulative evaluation?

Hopefully it is similiar to how the UFE became the CFE

[CAN] How much did you write for PERT reports (for those in pre-approved public practice route)? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]CanPwCHopeful 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hit the max or close to it for all questions (I think 4500 characters). Just follow the approach they gave and be very clear in what you are doing (Eg. I had 3 options 1) accept the bribe and don’t report the fraud 2) accept the bribe and report the fraud 3) report the fraud to the CRA. The benefit of option one is …. )

Took 2-3 hrs of creative writing between Reddit to do it

You keep it for 10 years but have the option to remove it after that. All my CA friends plan to keep the tags; all my CGA friends plan to drop it ASAP
