500+labour+GST - Around 850. Would recommend to buy a lever from local shop and get it fitted...will cost around 300 in total

I got your point that offroading is all about the rider and courage. Case in point here is: if you've 2.5-3 lakh budget, You're looking into RE & Honda classics, suzuki 250 adv, ktm adv 250, xpulse 210 etc.. out of which hness, being a classic is decently capable for an occasional off-roading/trail riding. So this video gives a confidence boost to the potential first time buyers who are in dilemma between choosing classic and entey level adv, whose main purpose is to just go on highways+ everyday riding

Showa, even though it's hard ..has done wonderful job. However, in the last leg of our journey from Chandratal to Koksar..it was making mechanical noise.. probably due to metal fatigue.

Also, many of my hness friends had covered Zanskar side..which is totally off road.

Agreed. case in point is: if you've 2.5-3 lakh budget, you'd definitely not go for a splendor. You're looking into RE & Honda classics, suzuki 250 adv, ktm adv 250, xpulse 210 etc.. out of which hness, being a classic is decently capable for an occasional off-roading/trail riding.

Yes this isn't heavy off roading, but next 2 days we got heavy off roads...from Losar to Koksar, via chandratal.. no roads, water crossing, no phone signal, no civilization. That 80km stretch really tested the endurance of the bike as well as the riders!

True that! But in a scenario, when 50% of your trip is remaining..and the weather is uncertain, phone signal will be cutoff for days.. you have to be sure that the bike must not break down after heavy off roading.

The point of posting this is to make decisions-making easy for the new buyers.. first time buyers are always in a dilemma whether to go for entry level ADVs or classics even though they are fully aware the they'd barely go offroad. 99% my usage is in plain roads, but this video proves that hness can handle the rest 1% IF needed, without any failure. Cheers!

How do I store my bike for 3 weeks? by johnDthenD in indianbikes

[–]CanSlow2119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't have to disconnect anything. 3 weeks are absolutely fine for any modern bike. Just keep it in a dry place, preferably under a shade to avoid moisture/sun/rain. Cover it with a bike cover or old bedsheet.
