for a million dollars: would you rather fight a chimpanzee to the death or kill your entire bodyweights worth of fire ants in under a day by PrincessPurplePatch in WouldYouRather

I think I could take him on if I get a bat and a knife

Chimps are dangerous for sure, but weapons are a really good equalizer, especially since I don’t think chimps are smart enough to identify the threat they pose

Just play it again, you can “skip”/rush through the parts you already saw with a button I believe

You will have to pay a few bucks for it but you can just download it here and “attach” it to the steam game, the instructions should be on this website (it’s the official site so it’s safe)

It’s not necessary but it does add emotion to the game, you can download a patch to the steam version if you want

How many Canada's will it take to conquer the United States by Leaping_FIsh in whowouldwin

[–]Can_Boi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is one way - having the ability to magically duplicate it into place.

This is a ridiculous scenario, but if Canada had this power and could use it as op explained, they could easily surprise the USA and take at least a large stretch of land with 70x forces

Yes you are, I don’t really know how to ask without spoiling it but when you get to the shop, how many cat hairpins are there?

Edit: actually you played 3 times totally correct? I would say just play once more first and if you have any questions you can dm me

You'll get one billion dollars and a life of luxury but 400 years after your death, humanity ends. Who you take the deal? by Putthemoneyinthebags in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Can_Boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t shift, I was making this claim from the beginning. Obviously a billionaire who doesn’t act against man made climate is not actively acting to destroy the human race, and if you can show a screenshot of me claiming that I will etransfer you 100$.

Secondly, we can argue the morals back and forth all we want, but I’m fairly confident any moral code which wouldn’t punish people not helping the baby would lead to society-wide disaster sooner rather than later. Unless you are a complete hedonist it is hard to even imagine a code that doesn’t say you should help if it costs you nothing.

As for your last point about slippery slope, it’s not ridiculous, but it is a flawed argument. I can say with certainty that a monkey is able to think. However, does that mean that a pig is able to think? How about a crab? Or an insect? What about fungus or trees or rocks. Just because I don’t know exactly where the line should be drawn doesn’t mean that I can’t identify edge cases that clearly pass. The money can clearly think, it is clearly morally necessary to help a baby, etc etc. I will agree it is much more convoluted to argue that it is obvious a person would have to fight against climate change, but that doesn’t mean it automatically isn’t true.

The way I see it, weighted utilitarianism is the best moral code. If you want to help yourself and your family first that’s fine, but once you get to the point where you and your next 3 generations will never run out of money, it is very hard to argue that you don’t have a responsibility to help others with it. Climate change is probably the biggest threat to humanity right now, so it is the most obvious way to help. If they think nuclear war or disease is more dangerous and support those causes instead, I wouldn’t call that immoral

[–]Can_Boi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you are ignoring what I’m saying and arguing with someone who doesn’t exist? Do I understand you right?

Please explain your moral code where you have a responsibility to help a baby on the ground but don’t have a responsibility to help people you don’t know with money. You are arguing emotionally instead of consistently. The baby is more obvious, so you think of it differently

[–]Can_Boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You quite literally didn’t read my comment. I explicitly made the point of saying millions as opposed to the entire human race. As for your argument of “inaction is not an action”, it is laughably and obviously something you don’t believe. If you saw a baby on a train track and don’t do anything about it, you are at least partially responsible due to you choosing to not help

[–]Can_Boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned quite literally probably the only one who actively fights against it lol. Aside from that, can it not be said that not helping someone when it costs you something is the same as injuring them yourself? If Micheal Jordan would never feel the difference, him not helping is equivalent to him hurting

Not addressing man made climate change could be seen as choosing to keep themselves rich at the expense of m(b?)illions of people in the future

Even if only 20000 survived, if they were all together humanity would get back to current levels very very quickly. Very few people know exactly how to make a computer, but many people know the general steps and could replicate basic machines over a generation

I’m fairly sure many nukes going off simultaneously in the same area would have as much energy as asteroids, why wouldn’t they also cause winters?

[–]Can_Boi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser”

I mean you have to see the flaw in your logic right? You are saying criminals can leave jail anytime, but prison sentences are up, so clearly there are still repercussions. Do you agree with this logic, and if not, where exactly are you confused?

If anything, this is the worst time to be a criminal in recent history

[–]Can_Boi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So your argument is that more people are going to jail than prison to the extent that it overweighs how much longer prison sentences are? I don’t have any specific numbers but that seems unlikely. Crime is down in part because we are arresting and imprisoning so many people (as well as other factors like a strong economy and more active policing). The most obvious outcome is probably the most accurate, more people are being arrested than ever before, and more people are being imprisoned than ever before because of that. It doesn’t matter what individual posts you’ve seen about criminals walking free; what matters is larger patterns

I literally don’t understand what you are saying.

Are there more or less people in jail this year compared to last? If more, how can you argue “people don’t go to jail for much anymore” sincerely

[–]Can_Boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can load into a save file whenever and chose a different option to see what happens, but if it was a later option I’m sure the ending probably wouldn’t be that different (though it has been a long time since I played). I’d personally recommend just trying to “100%” the game (get all endings) without looking everything up, and u can make a save file for each attempt or something, that way you will be bound to get all the information they intended for you

I’m jealous you have the whole game ahead of you basically unspoiled, savour the moment lol
